Guitar Center, the world's largest retailer of musical instruments and equipment, and DirecTV , one of the world's leading providers of digital television entertainment services, spotlighted MEGADETH in a new episode of the award-winning music series Guitar Center Sessions on Friday, July 13. Guitar Center Sessions features exclusive performances and intimate, enlightening conversations conducted by revered musical tastemaker Nic Harcourt. The episode was filmed at Guitar Center in Hollywood, California on March 22 and premiered in 2D hi-definition on DIRECTV's Audience Network (channel 239) and in 3D on DirecTV's n3D powered by Panasonic.

Absolutely love Megadeth, and when everyone was saying the voice is overdubbed on these GC clinics I didn't wanna believe them but on this particular song Trust it's really apparent. can't argue there. Also damn I wish Mike Portnoy would join Megadeth, that would be huge.

2:51 is the ell tale overdubb red flag. He is looking down yet his voice actually doesnt change volume during the song.

"My body aches from mistakes..." (groaned 30x)

Should be an anti-drug commercial.

those overdubbed vocals are so fake its ridiculous. Why would Mustaine do that? Are their vocal performances really that bad live?

What's with the fuckin' triggers/samples and those mosquito sounding guitar tones....grow some balls will ya?

as annoying as mustaine's live vocals are, they're less annoying than those two things in these vids...

...metal performances on TV always seem to sound like that (muffled guitar, loud vocals, etc.).

The interview however, was actually really good.

Myself and a couple others spotted the overdubs in "Angry Again" and got negged and ragged on by overzealous Megadeth fanboys.

If you can honestly watch "Trust" and still claim there's no overdubs, just stop listening to music, because your ears are shot to shit.

Backing tracks, drumagog, overdubs, this is the least metal thing they could have possibly done.

Oh, and to be clear, I'm a fan. I'm just not a fanboy.

I'm surprised they're not playing the whole Countdown to Extinction album in reverse chronology like a certain other band.

Are some of you talking about overdubbing for. I seen a few hiccups during the playing that matched the hand movements. The vocals sound live to me, he even wobbled out of key a few times. I guess some aren't aware that there are some amazing microphones out there that are extremely responsive. Before you talk shit and spread rumors why don't you know the facts first and try to find out first. Other than that I enjoyed the performances. Dave E. on bass it a treat to hear. Chris replicates the solos beautifully. Drover is solid on drums. Dave M. doesn't talk between song...what more could a metal fan ask for.

"I guess some aren't aware that there are some amazing microphones out there that are extremely responsive."

It's a Shure SM58. Probably a Beta. it's not terribly responsive, it's a dynamic supercardioid microphone. Very popular live mic, because it's dynamic; it will allow you a great deal of focused control.

The kind of 'response' you're referring to is from a condenser microphone. You use them in the studio because they are so responsive. You don't use them for live vocals because they are too responsive, in other words, they pick up way too much.

This whole performance was brought to the studio, jacked up and polished, cleaned and remixed. Including the vocals (first and foremost), obvious triggering on drums etc. If you cant dinstinguish raw footage from a studio-pumped one than you are deaf. Dave's voice is fucking shot, get over it.
