DEFTONES: New Album Cover Unveiled - Oct. 5, 2012
The cover artwork of "Koi No Yokan", the seventh studio album from Sacramento, California's DEFTONES, can be seen below. The group worked again with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who helmed 2010's "Diamond Eyes" and has also worked on albums by RUSH and FOO FIGHTERS.

Due on November 13, "Koi No Yokan" will feature the following track listing:

01. Poltergeist
02. Romantic Dreams
03. Leathers
04. Swerve City
05. Entombed
06. Graphic Nature
07. Tempest
08. Gauze
09. Rosemary
10. Goon Squad
11. What Happened To You?

Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep, DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno stated about the songwriting process for "Koi No Yokan", "We were coming out of a tough time, obviously, and our goal was to kind of rebuild what we created over all the years. I felt like we had to prove ourselves. We'd taken so much time between records, had some inner turmoil, and our records were starting to get pieced together versus really being created together, so for us it was a chance to get back to basics. We didn't have an idea of what sort of style we wanted. We just came in fired up and motivated to do something great. It was all very positive. We had more songs than ever, tons of ideas."

......it's Saturday Night Wrist-ish, and yet's it's a different approach.

But it definitely represents the spacey, ethereal, and dynamic qualities of the first two released tracks heard so far.

Thats like the Tangerine Dream covers. A bit more interesting though with the electronic cityscape suggestions.

Dork222, how gay can you be? Do you enjoy a fat bald hamster up you loose, Castro valley Ass? Deftones are gods beyond the average, pediphile comprehension. You need a lesson of a fat bald mule cock up your tiny homo ass.

is correct. Like S.N.W, the new artwork evokes a particular kind of mood that compliments the music perfectly.

I love when bands do that. They go more by instinct than reason. Katatonia are generally quite good at that too. i.e selecting covers with the right 'colours'. except for Great Cold Distance and its follow up, which, imo, are the only generic covers. THe rest of their covers perfectly reflect the mood of the music in a very specific way.

Deftones are the only band minus Chevelle that can put out consistently good music. The album cover is original...not some skulls and blood like what everyone else on here likes.

The cover of the album reminds me of that video surveillance scene in that movie "Rising Sun". Still totally dig it. Love these guys.

I don't listen to much heavy stuff anymore, but these guys are one of the few metal bands that keep me interested in what they do. I like this band a lot! The fact that they were able to move on without their esteemed bassist was I'm sure very difficult but their sound remains largely intact...they haven't lost that edge or integrity and they are back stronger than they've ever been, creating interesting soundscapes, changes and Chino's vocals are as menacing as ever!

and the sound of this record do remind me a lot of SNW. Overall I think it's a combination of the last two records.
