MICHAEL SCHENKER: Video Footage Of San Jose Concert - Oct. 11, 2012
Video footage of Michael Schenker's October 4 performance at The Rodeo Club in San Jose, California can be seen below (courtesy of Bay Area Backstage).

Vocalist David Van Landing is fronting Michael Schenker's band on the current North American tour, which kicked off on October 3 in Modesto, California. David has stepped in for Robin McAuley, who was originally slated to take part in the trek after recently reuniting with Schenker for their first full tour together in almost 20 years.

Van Landing, who has previously done three tours with MSG and had a short stint with CRIMSON GLORY, said prior to the start of the trek: "I am just looking forward to getting out on the road again with the boys and seeing all my old friends and hopefully meet some new ones!!"

In addition to Schenker and Van Landing, the lineup for the tour includes Pete Holmes on drums, Wayne Findlay on guitar and Elliott Rubinson on bass.

Schenker's latest album, "Temple Of Rock", was released in Europe on September 23, 2011 and in North America on October 11, 2011 on CD and LP through Schenker's own Inakustik label via MVD Entertainment Group.

The singer looks like a fat bloated Vince Neil. Michael should have a real vocalist in his band, Like Glenn Hughes. Hey if BCC is done why not right?

Glenn Hughes may admire Schenker as a player but he would NOT do that. Schenker is notorious for cancelling, not paying his band, not paying peripheral companies..etc... Schenker is one of the most erratic personalities in the industry. * Having said all that, he has been playing very well lately and hopefully his erratic ways are behind him.

He's playing a small club near me next week for 22 bucks. Can't wait to see him rip!

Van Landing (who I'd never heard of before) does a remarkable Klaus impression though - good in the sense of being like the record and fun;bad in the sense that like so many others he doesn't have his own sound.

Semi OT: Ripper Owens, Doogie White, Jorn Lande - all great singers but lacking in originality. You instantly know which singer is on each Deep Purple (or Rainbow) album because they have their own styles and sound. So many other guys just ape whoever (and in some cases like LaTorre's can save a band) but at the same time it's kind of sad in the same way that regional accents are nearly extinct here in the states.

Doogie is on Schenkers latest CD. Van Landing has put on some pounds though..he was in Crimsom Glory, who I never heard of but he also did a tour with Schenker in 97'.
