TROUBLE Taps Producer BILL METOYER For New Album Mix - Oct. 27, 2012
Veteran producer Bill Metoyer (SLAYER, W.A.S.P., ARMORED SAINT, DARK ANGEL, SACRED REICH, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, D.R.I.) has begun mixing the rhythm section for the new album from Chicago doom-metal legends TROUBLE.

TROUBLE announced in February that it recruited Kyle Thomas as the band's new singer following the departure of the group's frontman of the past four years, Kory Clarke (of WARRIOR SOUL fame).

Thomas, former lead vocalist for EXHORDER, FLOODGATE and ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, was no stranger to TROUBLE as he previously fronted the band for four live shows between 1997 and 1999, including Stoner Hands Of Doom festival in Maryland and Expo Of The Extreme in Chicago. Thomas has also collaborated on projects with members of SLIPKNOT, DOWN, OBITUARY and DEICIDE.

In an interview with Metal Kaoz, TROUBLE guitarist Bruce Franklin stated about Kyle's addition to the band, "We didn't need to change any of the [new] music [to suit Kyle's vocals]. He really knows how to sing to TROUBLE stuff because he was a fan from way back."

Added Kyle: "They had given me four songs to work on when I was jamming with them in anticipation of possibly doing the album that came to be 'Simple Mind Condition'. I did demo one song, but nothing I did ever made it to the album. Things turned out the way that they have between then and now, and here I am."

He continued, "Bruce and Rick [Wartell, guitar] have always been great to me as people and business partners. I was made to feel an equal back then, and the same goes for now. That is monumental for me — I grew up listening to these guys and now I am a member of one of my favorite bands. You can't beat that."

TROUBLE 2012 is:

Kyle Thomas: Vocals
Bruce Franklin: Guitar
Rick Wartell: Guitar
Shane Pasqualla: Bass
Mark Lira: Drums

this is good to here. Can't wait to hear this. Especially with Kyle on it. I could have cared less if Kory was spewing his verbal diarrhea all over it!

I still hate it that ATP broke up after their one album with Kyle. that album was amazing.

What the hell ever happened to ATP, because the album with Kyle on it was indeed good, and it's like that was it, game over. what gives?

New Trouble has my attention, and kory was good with his other bands, but man not with this band.

I like everything they've done in the past, but I was not into them working with Kory Clark... Now they have my attention again with Kyle on vocals. Can't wait to hear the new album!

Saw them on their last tour. They were great but there was obviously tension in the band and with Eric being too drunk, getting the words to Misery Shows wrong and accidentally knocking the mike stand over so it clouted some dude down the fronts head (which was fucking hilariously done) it was clear Eric was the one causing the tension.
I like early Warrior Soul but Kory is clearly mental and i thought getting him as singer was going out of the frying pan and into the fire on a personal level so i'm glad that's over and i'm looking forward to hearing whatever they put out next.

If you listen to the Supershine album Bruce made with King's X singer Dug Pinnick (which is an awesome album by the way) you can hear that, as brilliant as Eric was, Bruce is more where Trouble gets their classic sound.

With only Bruce and Rick in the lineup, this does not resemble Trouble to me. Without Eric's voice and lyrics, and with these new stooges in the rhythm section, my hopes are low. I saw a video of Kyle singing at SHoD and it sucked. I think it's time to change my username on here.

Too bad. It was bad enough when Wagner left, but now they have to get a cut-rate producer like Metoyer to work with. Everything he's done sounds like shit. Obviously, they can't afford Rick Rubin now. Manic Frustration is their masterpiece.

I concur, this latest incarnation of the band is a FARCE. Only POSERS would support this latest version of the once might doom metal merchants Trouble. NO WAGNER = NO TROUBLE. FOAD if you have bad vibes towards us that disagree with Trouble's current band.

Good news... Metoyer is the right choice to capture the classic sound. Kyle is a way better choice than Kory. Life is good!
