SASS JORDAN To Guest On JAKE E. LEE's New Album - Oct. 28, 2012
Singer Sass Jordan, a Canadian icon and Juno Award winner, has recorded a guest appearance on the track "Redeem Me" from ex-OZZY OSBOURNE/BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee.

A photo of Jordan and Lee taken this past week in Las Vegas can be seen below.

Lee is back after over a decade in seclusion. In great shape mentally, physically and spiritually, Jake is ready to return and bring his brand of unique playing and music to the world.

In the process of recording his new album at Las Vegas' The Hideout Studios — owned and operated by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT) — Lee's first new release will feature a combination of legendary rock artists and some of the biggest names of new metal. Already recorded are guest appearances by Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK), Paul Di'Anno (IRON MAIDEN), Maria Brink (IN THIS MOMENT), with many other big names attached to the project.

Jake has launched search for a new vocalist who will sing at least one track on the new album and will join Lee on a world tour starting in late spring 2013.

Criteria: Must be capable of singing a couple of OZZY OSBOURNE and BADLANDS songs, plus tracks from Lee's new album while still having a strong enough identity to be able carry the band into the future, as Jake will head straight back into the studio after the touring to begin a new album with the new band.

What to do: Send an email to Ronnie@HideoutLV.com containing an MP3, or a link to an MP3 of yourself singing a OZZY OSBOURNE or BADLANDS songs. Then submit one other song or video of your choosing that you feel best represents who you are as an artist. Listen to BADLANDS' "High Wire" to see the range required for this gig. Only those vocalists that really fit what Lee is looking for will be contacted with further instructions.

Lee's new solo album is being recorded with the help of guitarist Ronnie Mancuso of BEGGARS & THIEVES, whose 2011 video, "We Come Undone", featured an appearance by Jake.

According to the All Music Guide, Lee helped Ozzy Osbourne score two of the most commercially successful releases of the singer's long and illustrious career — 1983's "Bark at the Moon" and 1986's "The Ultimate Sin". Lee eventually joined up with another former BLACK SABBATH singer (albeit briefly), Ray Gillen, and formed the LED ZEPPELIN/classic rock-esque outfit BADLANDS. Subsequently, Lee played briefly with a band called WICKED ALLIANCE before setting off on his own, issuing his solo debut, "A Fine Pink Mist", in August of 1996.

Jake E. Lee's "covers" album, "Retraced", was released in the U.S. in April 2005 via Shrapnel Records. All the songs were recorded in a "power trio" format ala BADLANDS and the tracks for the project were cover songs along that style (bluesy power rock).

Lots of people do. But that is beside the point. You get someone like Sass Jordan to sing on your album, not because she is popular right now, but because she has an amazing voice.

It is great to see Jake back in action. Glad he is not goingthe reality route to find a new singer, also happy to see he is looking for new talent rathert than trying to tap into what's hot just to get some publicity. New singer, a few guest appearances, and a great guitarist! Can't wait to hear the final outcome!

I bet Sass would be amazing on a tune like High Wire. She owns 95% of the so-called great singers out there. Good to see Jake back in the game as well.

THIS IS GONNA BE COOL. ONE OF THE WORST MISTAKES OZZY EVER MADE WAS LETTING JAKE GO.

WELCOME BACK MR. LEE. WE'VE BEEN WAITING A VERY LONG TIME FOR YOUR RETURN.

When it comes to the different eras that Ozzy went through....the Jake era is my LEAST favorite. But....I am a Jake fan and absolutely love Badlands. A Fine Pink Mist is a great album. I just like the other music Ozzy made with his other guitarists better.

That first Badlands album is a contender for best hard rock album ever made, in my opinion, and the other two are both excellent. The stuff Sass did with Stevie Salas was great too. Really excited about every aspect of this: Jake back in action, Sass rocking again, and most of all, seeing Jake on tour again. There are only a handful of guitarists that dropped my jaw when I saw them play live, and he's one of them. Can't fucking wait!

......and he made the suggestion that Jake should join Black Country Communion. Joe Bonamassa's solo schedule won't permit them to tour their new album and I'd say my friends suggestion is great and spot on! BCC's the best band to come out in many years and should be kept going! I say bring Jake to the Black Country!!!! Plus personally I think that this would be a better career move for him than most anything he would do solo.... I also agree and think that Jake and Glenn Hughes would also drive each other creatively as well.......

That is actually not a far out idea as it seems! There are very few hard rock/blues style guitarists with high a profile as JB and Jake is at least similar in years to Glenn Hughes. Badlands was formed with Ray Gillen and Eric Singer originally, both having left Sabbath, with Ray actually replacing Glenn Hughes.

With JB too busy for in his solo career, it would be a good step for Jake nad the rest of BBC...

Just like that one Dilana chick was in l.a.guns didn't pan out,but I thought she was cool. Again, don't get mad at me,check the stats.
And no need to make me a list of women singers!

I like the singer for the band garbage a whole lot, sexy and voice-wise both

Badlands was absolutely killer, and Ray Gillen was taken from us way way too soon...total shame.

I am also thinking that BCC could possibly be a perfect fit for Jake...somebody give Glenn a call!

I Love all 3 Badlands album, the first one, Voodoo Hoghway and Dusk. Ultimate Sin has to be 3rd on my list of awesome Ozzy albums, the two being Randy Rhoads' of course. Jake is the best glad he's back!
