KING'S X Drummer And Wife Suffer Devastating Losses From Hurricane Sandy - Nov. 1, 2012
KING'S X drummer Jerry Gaskill and his wife suffered devastating losses during Hurricane Sandy, which killed more than 70 people and caused $50 billion worth of damage. Jerry and Julie live on the coast of New Jersey, the state hardest hit by the storm which hammered much of the northeastern United States on Monday (October 29). They lost almost every material possession they owned and are displaced from their home.

The friends and fans of Jerry Gaskill are uniting to raise money to help Jerry and his wife rebuild after Hurricane Sandy.

If you would like to help, anything you can give will be treated as a gift and is not tax deductible.

For more information, go to this location.

Gaskill suffered a heart attack on February 26 and underwent an emergency operation before being released from the hospital three weeks later.

Gaskill was scheduled to enter the studio in late November with Nashville-based songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist D.A. Karkos to track drums for Gaskill's solo record with legendary producer/engineer/mixer Michael Wagener at Wagener's WireWorld studio in Nashville.

The guy has cracked a mirror or two lately.

Good luck, hope it turns around for you.

Very sorry for their losses. The main positive is their safety. The storm brutalized most of the Jersey coast. My thoughts go out to anybody affected by Sandy.

According to that title, you'd think the band had a wife.

COMMENT | Though year for Jerry, time for us fans to pitch in now!

Just starting my day off watching a Buddy Rich Live in '78 dvd I checked out, as Neil Peart is fan of his work. Rich was a Jazz dummer, not my type of music or drummer, unlike Rock drummers. From what I see, he has talent and technique... One thing I find odd about Jazz drummers is them using some type of brushes as drum sticks, apparently to produce the lightest souns possible...not exactly what Rock fans may interest.

Jerry is the real deal and I love King'x X, but haven't seen them live in over 3 years. No, didn't see them open for anyone, give me a break, not gonna see one of my fav bands as opener with a short set, KX is a headliner! Any KX and drummers fans must pitch in for Jerry anything you can afford, his family needs help now!

If only KX would do an Emergency Relief Tour for Jerry now, I'd be willing to pay good for tickets to a couple shows near me here in SF Bay area. Someone mentioned about insurance and Fema help, but that is questionable and it takes months. Haven't you heard how the rats in insurance companies will try to do anything not to pay house owners, wish Jerry luck with them...

Who are Ed & Michelle Frost? Is this money going to JG? Or is it a scam. I'll just go to King's X's site & buy something.

I talked to Jerry once after a show they did With Motley Crue in 1994 I think. He seemed like a very nice guy. I'll probably throw a few bucks his way.
