THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN To Enter Studio This Week - Nov. 3, 2012
New Jersey-based "mathcore" act THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will enter the studio on November 5 with producer Steve Evetts (EVERY TIME I DIE, POISON THE WELL) to begin recording its new album for a tentative April 2013 release.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN guitarist Ben Weinman previously stated about the band’s forthcoming CD, "This new material is very punk-, very hardcore-influenced. Maybe it's all the amazing bands reuniting from my youth that is inspiring this. Billy [Rymer, drums] and I have just been listening to old hardcore records blasting through my house and then going down to the dungeon and just bashing. Greg [Puciato, vocals] also seems to be in a very dark place lyrically. I think it's going to be pretty creepy. If these songs don't put some holes in the wall, I don't know what will."

The band recently announced the amicable departure of rhythm guitarist Jeff Tuttle.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's latest album, "Option Paralysis", was re-released last year in a "Paralyzing Edition" exclusively as a digital download. This first-anniversary reissue included four bonus tracks, plus a video in the iTunes version.

Love DEP, but aside from a couple tracks, "Option Paralysis" was kinda bland. Hope they step it up on this new one. I know they can!

I hope it's better than Option Paralysis. That one just didn't do it for me. But still, great band.

grew on me over time. Pretty much every track is solid, very different record from their previous, Ire Works (their best in my opinion) but very solid. Mona Lisa, Good Neighbor, Gold Teeth, all great songs.
