SOUNDGARDEN Singer Doing Hurricane Benefit In New York - Nov. 9, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell will play an acoustic benefit concert on Monday night (November 12) at New York City's Bowery Ballroom, with all proceeds going to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. Tickets go on sale Friday (November 9) at 3:00 p.m. ET. SOUNDGARDEN arrives in New York next week for promotional events related to the release of "King Animal", the band's new studio album which arrives on Tuesday (November 13).

The band will also perform a concert for the "Live On Letterman" webcast Monday night, as well as a song for that evening's edition of "Late Show With David Letterman" on CBS.

"King Animal", SOUNDGARDEN's sixth studio album and first since 1996, is currently streaming in its entirety on iTunes.

A sneak peek at the video for the album's first single, "Been Away Too Long", became available online Thursday (November 8), with the full clip scheduled to arrive on Friday.

SOUNDGARDEN will play three "intimate" North American shows to celebrate the release of "King Animal", at Irving Plaza in New York City on November 13, the Phoenix in Toronto on November 16 and the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on November 27.

Classy move on Cornell's part. Hope they raise tons of money for those who lost their homes etc. in the hurricane.
