KING DIAMOND's 'Christmas' Single To Be Re-Released For Record Store Day Black Friday - Nov. 20, 2012
Just in times for the holidays, KING DIAMOND's "No Presents For Christmas" single is being re-released on vinyl for the first time in over 25 years. It will be made available exclusively through independent retail as part of Record Store Day Black Friday (November 23).

November 23 will mark the second year of Record Store Day Black Friday, with participating stores offering their hardcore customers limited-edition vinyl, CDs, DVDs, box sets, and even a set of music-themed trading cards.

Record Store Day celebrates the culture of independent record stores by playing host to in-store events/performances, signings and special product releases on a global scale.

"No Presents For Christmas" was originally released on December 25, 1985, with the track "Charon" on the B-side. It was the first music released by Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond's then-new band after the breakup of MERCYFUL FATE.

One of KING DIAMOND's most well-known songs, "No Presents For Christmas" can also be found on the reissue of KING DIAMOND's first album, "Fatal Portrait".

I remember when this came out. I went to Catholic school, I was in 3rd or 4th grade and we had a Christmas party. We were told by our teacher that we could bring in "Christmas Music" for the day to be played in class. I recorded this onto a cassette and brought it in. "I'm dreaming of a white.... Sabbath." My teacher didn't appreciate it, to say the very least.

classic stuff.
Remember I was totally disappointed Mercyful Fate broke up. But this made it bearable.

As for the rest of his solo stuff: fatal portrait and Abigail were great, but after that I lost interest. It's always about little girls,evil doctors and grandmothers.

The first 5 King Diamond solo albums are all classics. I did find some of his 90s stuff variable but it was always enjoyable...his latest stuff ( well, latest in the loosest sense, with his health problems it's been almost 6 years since a new album ) have been great. I particularly liked The Puppet Master, excellent album. King rules basically.

Although the Mercyful Fate stuff can't be matched. You'd be crazy not to get into any of King's solo stuff.
