LED ZEPPELIN's 'Celebration Day' Projected To Sell 90K-100K Copies First Week - Nov. 23, 2012
LED ZEPPELIN's concert film, "Celebration Day", which is available on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc, is likely to sell between 90,000 and 100,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on two-day sales reports compiled after the package arrived in stores on November 19 via Swan Song/Atlantic Records.

"Celebration Day" documents LED ZEPPELIN's 2007 concert at London, England's O2 Arena. The film made its U.S. debut at the historic Ziegfeld Theater in New York's theater district on October 9. Prior to the premiere, founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, for a press conference at New York's Museum of Modern Art.

LED ZEPPELIN took the stage at London's O2 Arena on December 10, 2007 to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll that instantly became part of the legend of LED ZEPPELIN. Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band's first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.

The film of "Celebration Day" saw a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories on October 17.

I want new music. If a DVD will sell that much, imagine what new music from LZ would do for the rock community!

They must of brought Steve Harris in to edit because they're all saying the camera shot changes every 3 seconds....LOL

That kind of shit sucks and makes every live Maiden video a disaster and impossible to watch.

I'll buy it, watch it, bitch about it, and sell it!

The camera shot does not change every 3 seconds. I saw Celebration Day in a theater. Some band publicist who can't handle the competition from a real band, even in their 60s, must be talking shit.

Led Zepp is the best band of the history. We must buy that album and crush shitty actual "artists".
I'm spanish and I'll buy, and I'll enjoy it, and I'll sing it and I'll enjoy again.

Zeppelin rules!

Worlds dumbest band - why do I say this? How can they not tour and make billions of dollars.

That looks pretty smart to me -- one concert, make millions off of dvd sales. I guess you think they are dumb because they really should be making billions instead of millions? Do you think money motivates them any more?

It would have been much better if they would have broadcast live in movie theaters as it was happening. I am not interested in seeing this event that happened 5 years ago.

I gotta agree with JJJB. I can't stand to watch any music videos these days because of the spastic editing. They can't stay on one camera shot for more than 2 seconds and it is just disorienting.

I gotta admit they sure did go out on a high note, instead of say the Rolling Stones who will shuffle out on their canes and walkers soon for their 50th anniversary tour. There is something to be admired about going out on top.

But damn, would I like to see them live, just one time. Too young, too late.

It's nice to see such an obscure and completely original band get together one more time for the diehards that still remember them.

The performances are much better than I anticipated. Page sang his heart out. Vocally, the Zep songs are very demanding. The video & audio sets a new standard as well. It's stunning.

First of all, let's not kid ourselves, this is not Led Zeppelin. Without any single one of the four members, the unique dynamic magical combination that they possessed, does not exist. On September, 25th 1980, along with John Bonham, the greatest rock band that has ever existed, also died. Nobody has come close to equaling them since....Now that that is out of the way, let me say that John's son Jason, and the three surviving members of the mighty Zep pulled of a performance that was far better than most people were reasonably expecting. Celebration Day is worth every cent. Turn it up.
