Video: JOE LYNN TURNER Performs In Tampere, Finland - Nov. 23, 2012
Fan-filmed video footage of legendary singer Joe Lynn Turner's (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) November 14 performance at Klubi in Tampere, Finland can be seen below.

Joe Lynn Turner spent much of 2009 and 2011 touring with OVER THE RAINBOW, which also features fellow ex-RAINBOW members Bobby Rondinelli on drums, Greg Smith on bass and Paul Morris on keyboards, alongside the son of the iconic RAINBOW founder/guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, Jürgen Blackmore, on guitar. In 2011, OVER THE RAINBOW took a "hiatus" so that members of the band could concentrate on their own projects.

Turner continues to be a multi-dimensional artist, never limiting his options and experiences in other types of music besides hard rock/melodic rock. He has been doing a lot of writing with artists who specialize in non-rock music genres with the goal of branching out, recording some of this material for either future releases or films. He's also a superstar in Russia and other Eastern European countries as a solo artist and spent part of 2010 and 2011 touring those regions. Summer 2011 saw Joe Lynn Turner performing with the "Spectra All Star Rock Tour" — a diverse collection of artists best known for their hits in the '70s, '80s and '90s. In early 2012, Frontiers released Joe's third SUNSTORM album entitled, "Emotional Fire".

Love JLT but seriously...at this point should he still be singing Gillan, Coverdale/Hughes, and Dio fronted songs when he is out there on his own?

With Over The Rainbow I guess but...I dunno...just not buying it here. Mixed feelings, it's a killer set list.

...I was never the biggest JLT fan, but that's where Ritchie wanted to take the band, i.e. - into AOR territory for radio-oriented hits. "Straight Between the Eyes" is probably the best album from that era.

And I also find it odd that he's covering so much Dio and Gillan-era stuff. Whatevs...

man that's a "Hey Blackmore - over here! Look at me!" setlist.

The man has many albums and projects and he covers Gillan, Dio?

I don't get it. Some of the stuff on those HTP albums killed as did Sunstorm and Second Hand Life - and that's just off the top of my head.

Joe your Blackmore days are over - enrich your fans with your solo stuff.

Half the setlist has nothing to do with him. It has to be hard mentally or to feel creatively viable when you are doing these same songs for decades. "King of Dreams" and "Street of Dreams" were really well crafted commercial songs. Turner did a good job on those. Turner didn't pull off the heavier material very well though. "Can't happen here" and "Jealous Lover" are just horrendous though. Would like to have heard Bonnet finnish "I surrender." When Turner did the "Slaves & Masters" tour they missed out on an opportunity to do some really early Purple songs. He would have sounded cool on "Why Didn't Rosemary" for example. Blackmore has created an entire sub- industry of past employees earning a living performing his songs :) Oh, and what are those gloves for though?

So great to see him do Can't Let You Go--one of the most forgotten great songs from JLT era Rainbow. He should only do one or two non-JLT Rainbow or DP songs, and throw in stuff from Nothing's Changed and some Fandango.

Come back to New York, Joe!

We know Joe's fat and bald but his voice sounds really fucking good here! Kill The King would've be cool, and Stone Cold was a great MTV hit single in the 80's. I'm shocked how well his voice held up over the years, better than most.

Joe is STILL one of the best. Pipes are still top notch. Still top 10 in the world of vocalist's...But please, PLEASE stop using these hack bands and put a slamming band together and do it right. You deserve it man.

Dear Blabbermouth readers...JLT has many excellent solo albums or projects-TURNER HUGHES...SUNSTORM...BRAZEN ABBOT...NOSTRADAMUS....ok,but the man has some preferences in playing live, even if this songs aren't his compositions or belong to other musicians!!We can feel the passion for playing this music, for the FRONTIERS projects-he sings for money-it's AOR music composed by FRONTIERS home composers!!!TURNER loves solid hard rock music! That's my opinion!

1. Ditch the stupid wig your old and accept it
2. Write heavy songs not gay ballad crap
3. When you play live play what you were apart of
4. Keep on rockin

Joe Lynn Turner has Alopecia Areata, which causes hairloss-patches. He started wearing a wig way back because of that.

He's always worn one. Apparently he has no hair at all because of a rare version of allopecia.
