MEGADETH: Pomona Concert Professionally Filmed For Possible Release - Dec. 8, 2012
MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has posted a four-minute video clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the band's December 7 concert at Fox Theater in Pomona. Check it out below.

According to Ellefson, the Pomona show was professionally filmed for possible future release.

The 20th-anniversary edition of MEGADETH's 1992 double platinum-certified "Countdown To Extinction" album was released on November 6 via Capitol/EMI.

Presented in a 2CD lift-top box and digitally, "Countdown To Extinction"'s new commemorative edition pairs the remastered original album with a 1992 concert, recorded live at San Francisco's Cow Palace, which has never before been released in its entirety. The concert audio has been newly remixed for this release. The physical and digital versions both include a booklet with a new liner notes essay by music journalist Kory Grow, and the 2CD box also contains a 24" x 36" poster and four collectible postcards.

MEGADETH is currently performing the acclaimed album in its entirety on the band's "Countdown To Extinction 20th Anniversary Tour".

Deth fan from the Get Go!
Oh how time has changed things but in the end Megadeth will always be one of the innovators of Thrash! The 80s will always be held as the best of times, insane as it gets!Nothing will ever top it!

And what band/bands of Today will be around this long?Be this well known around the Globe and still Pack in a Crowd?
Pfffft.....Haha! Mmk....

I was reading the story a few pages back about those unknown metal bands from Cleveland putting together a charity gig, and couldn't help think "while these guys are actually doing something to improve human condition, Dave Mustaine keeps blurting out about his President".

I heard the new Mega dvd is supposed to have "Daves political thoughts" as a bonus feature. A 75 minutes compliation of raw, un-cut Mustaine politically charged rants from his various concerts throughout his career. Holy fuck, imagine that......? Haha...

What I love most about posts related to a Megadeth story is that they are so unpredictable, clever, and not at all similar.

Why do all these dickweeds feel the need to inject politics into every thread? There is no political implications to this story - it's just a DVD from a great metal band. Just enjoy it.

....... happened to Megadeth ?. Remember when Peace Sells... was released ? The entire metal world sat up and paid attention, what an album!. Waiting the 15 months until So Far... was released let the tension grow, Everyone wanted to see how they would follow Peace Sells. And what a follow up, the first time I played Into the Lungs of Hell I could have died happy right that minute. Megadeth could seemingly do no wrong.
And along came Rust in Peace. Jesus H Christ how good could this band get ? Well now we know, because Everything following Rust has been a reeking crock of shite, every single album. Wotta revoltin' development.

I love Megadeth. I have been to five of their concerts and I think they are awesome to go see live.

That being said, their dvds are not so great. Listen to the Rust in Peace dvd. Overdubbed to hell and back. When they aren't overdubbed the music still sounds good but the vocals.....

fault Megadeth. Great metal band that has worked hard as hell for many, many years now to Have earned the respect and admiration of metal heads like myself for over 25 years now. May not like or agree with a lot of what Dave says, but who really cares? Not me, man. Cheers!

Is there will be a day Dave will no longer be with us and it will be the same mutherfickers ripping into him posting in "Dave was a cool guy, I wish he was still with us." Quit judging the dude and just let him say what he wants to say just as you do...and from my impartial standpoint it's not him coming across as the douche.

I like Countdown but I wouldn't be thrilled at seeing the whole thing played live. So this DVD won't be for me. The first 4 albums are all way better, I've love to see a history set primarily focusing on those. I strongly dispute the idea they never released a good album after though, as commercial as it is I really like Youthanasia and some of their recent stuff ( especially Endgame ) is great.

They did make some shit, Risk was terrible and the 2 albums either side merely passable...but most bands that have been around this long have made the odd mis-step.

Dave should be used to show kids that using drugs really does rot your brain.
