DEEDS OF FLESH: New Song Available For Streaming - Dec. 22, 2012
"Rise Of The Virvum Juggernaut", a brand new song from California extreme metallers DEEDS OF FLESH, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track comes off the band's ninth album, "Portals To Canaan", which will be released next year via Unique Leader Records. The CD features "amazing artwork and numerous conceptual pieces" by Raymond Swanland.

Commented DEEDS OF FLESH founding member Erik Lindmark: "We are very excited to get this release out there amoung the masses.

"The album combines new and old elements of the band and we think the fans will really enjoy it. Zack from Castle Ultimate has done a great job in putting the final touches to the production and 'Portals To Canaan' is most definitely our best production to date.

"The new members, Craig Peters (lead guitar) and Ivan Munguia (bass), fit the band perfectly and really did a great job on the release.

"All in all, we are extremely pleased with the final product and believe the fans will be stoked."

DEEDS OF FLESH's last CD, "Of What's to Come", came out in November 2008 via Unique Leader.

Great track.. so far it sounds MUCH better than "Of What's to Come".

Horror vacui: I think Linkin Park just released a new album. Go listen to that shit instead of plaguing the threads of more talented bands with your idiocy.

I respect people who listening to this sort of music.
But i can't believe there's people really like it.
Maybe 14-20 year old guys that hate Maiden,Judas Priest,
Metallica,Testament so on, that actually can sing.
I sure you & many people would laugh their ass off if Iron Maiden had the DEEDS OF FLESH singer instead of Bruce dickinson.

... and like Maiden, Priest, Testament, Deeds of Flesh, Exhumed, Immolation, the Misfits... hell, I can go on for hours and hours here. Point is, just like DoF vocalist cannot sing Maiden songs, Maiden can sure as fuck not play these insanely talented and complex death metal songs. Nicko McBrain's fucking hands would fall off if he tried to play the song above.

Open your mind.

I am 32, listen to everything from Dio to Cryptopsy, Willie Nelson to Heart, Emperor to Frank Sinatra. I've been playing guitar for over 22 years, as well as all other rock instruments. This is talented. You are shallow, end of story. Like I said- please go away. You do NOT respect us.

Give them a chance because it is not just noise, as some people think.
It is not exactly easy to write such tendonitis-inducing music.

It's DoF so it can do no wrong, but I wish they'd go back to a primitive songwriting style. I miss the eerie, mysterious vibe of the Path/Mark era.

An honest, non-fanboy assessment: Some good bits, but overall very predictable music with riffing and progressions we have heard before many times. Beyond generic DM vocals that have nothing special to set them apart from other generic DM vocalists whatsoever. I listened to the song again to see if I was wrong.. nope. Standard-fare DM, nothing more, nothing less. Just sound brutal with some technicality and kids rave about you these days, I guess.
