Video: HEART's WILSON Sisters Joined By JASON BONHAM For 'Kennedy Center Honors' Performance - Dec. 27, 2012
Ann and Nancy Wilson of HEART played "Stairway To Heaven" as the finale of a star-studded musical tribute to LED ZEPPELIN during the Kennedy Center Honors, which were broadcast last night (Wednesday, December 26) on CBS after being taped earlier in the month. They were joined on stage by late LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham's son Jason on drums, as well as a massive house band consisting of string and horn sections as well as a vocal choir.

During a December 3 appearance on CBS' "The Late Show With David Letterman", LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page stated about the Wilson sisters' performance: "They did a version of 'Stairway' that had a choir and an orchestra. Ann and Nancy Wilson started it up and it was building and building. Then a scrim goes up and it started really rocking. It was great."

Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, along with Letterman, were awarded the Kennedy Center Honor on December 1 in Washington, D.C.

The bandmembers were promoting their new live collection, "Celebration Day", which features ZEPPELIN's entire 2007 London reunion concert.

Emotional Plant there, though trying to avoid the joy with Page at times.

Edited version, Wilson sisters rock, bet you they love LZ music more than

their own, who wouldn't! No idea who guitar player is, just ok, not sure

Jason played as the songs goes as well. Not sure if choir belongs to a church

and if they are aware of the religious controversy around this song; how

they got them to sing on this...from what I have seen, I suspect Plant is a

born-again Christian...

Ann Wilson still sounds powerful, she's always had it.

They should have gotten a guest guitarist on the solo though, that guy has no soul in his playing. Maybe nervous playing in front of Page, hmmm.

Wow, what a great performance. It was emotional just to watch so I can only imagine how the boys felt having that tribute paid to them.
I got the Celebration Day box set for Christmas and I just love it! Haven't stopped listening since... When the DVD went in I told my wife I was fourteen again. Led Zeppelin were a major part of the soundtrack of my youth. Nevermind the haters, GREAT FUCKING BAND!!!

You know, you sometimes forget since it's played on the radio a gazillion times what an awesome and powerful song Stairway is...then you see something like this. Gave me chills watching it.

The Wilson sisters still kick ass. Now THEY like Rush deserve to be in the RRHOF.

I agree with an earlier post. Would of been cool to see a famous guest guitarist do the solo like Slash..that would of been killer with the ol Page Les Paul swagger and great chops. I agree, that poor guy has to solo in front of Page. He pulled it off ok though. plus fuck how many guitars played on that? i counted like 3 electric and Nancy...

And you gotta love Jason. Such a cool dude and such love for the music. His dad would be proud.

And you know what? As much as i love Zep i'm actually fine with them not touring. If Plant has troubles with it vocal wise, we got Celebration Day out of it. Why tour and tarnish the image.

I loved it. Stayed up late on a work night to catch the LZ spot. I thought the exact thing...Nancy Wilson still looks hot and they forgot to get Slash. He would've been perfect for the lead on Stairway.
I knew they would have the typical Foo Fighters and Lenny Kravitz performances. Kid Rock was blah. Lenny killed it. Totally pro.

I had to come back and watch it again. Just an amazing tribute to a phenomenal band. Touching to watch Jason during the perfomance and then after when he showed loved to the boys!! Truly awesome. I can't say I've been moved like that in quite some time.

Did you see Jimmy smiling and clapping like a wildman??? Loved it...

I remember Heart's cover of Zeppelin's Rock and Roll on their Greatest Hits Live album and if memory serves me correct, it was the first time I recalled a band covering a Zeppelin tune and releasing it. The Wilson sisters definitely did the song justice.

All wearing little Bonzo hats was pretty cool too. Plant and Jason both teared up. Ann and Nancy will ALWAYS have it. Great fucking tribute !

Holy shit, that actually brought a tear to my eye, Plant, Page, and even Jones looked like they were tearing up. It just underscores how talented of songwriters and powerful Led Zeppelin were. Loved all the props to them, Ann Wilson is still the greatest female vocalist around and Nancy is just as great. They always got it and understood Zep even back in the early 70's. Zeppelin easily overshadowed Obama in that room. They have talent. He doesn't.

I think no one sings Plant like Linda Perry. But you could not have picked a better act than the Wilson sisters to pay tribute to Zep.
