TOM MORELLO To Play In BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN's Band In Australia - Jan. 18, 2013
According to The Pulse Of Radio, guitarist Tom Morello from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will fill in for Steve Van Zandt during BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND's Australian tour. Rolling Stone reported that Van Zandt will be previously engaged shooting his Netflix series, "Lillyhammer", and Morello will sub during the nine-date trek, which kicks off on March 14 in Boondall, Australia. Van Zandt will be back on board on April 29 when the tour hits Fornebu, Norway.

Morello and Springsteen have had an active recent history, with Morello often popping up at Springsteen gigs and playing incendiary solos on Springsteen's 1995 classic "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" — which RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE covered in 2000.

Morello was featured on two cuts from Springsteen's most recent album, "Wrecking Ball", called "Jack of All Trades" and "This Depression".

He also sat in with Springsteen during his most recent appearance on NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and at The Boss' March appearance in Austin the night of his keynote address at South By Southwest.

Morello will be among the musicians paying tribute to Springsteen on February 8, when he's honored as the 2013 MusiCares Person Of The Year in L.A.

Said like a true, ignorant, uneducated asshole.

Tell ya what, go make 17 albums, sell 150 million records, win 20 Grammys, then get back to me.

Yes, because selling millions of albums to mindless minions and being acknowledged by a clueless corporate award issuing organization for doing so is the true measure of an artist.

So by your same generic logic Kanye, Missy Elliot, and Pink are bonafide artists/musicians?

I'm sorry, what were you saying about ignorant and uneducated?

No, but being a brilliant songwriter is. I wonder what your definition of a true artist is? Probably some grindcore bullshit.

Comparing Bruce Springsteen to Kanye West, Missy Elliot and Pink just is like comparing apples to alligators.

Use your brain a little wee bit.

I liked Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run album, but other than that, I cannot get into his music. I have friends who are crazy fans and act like I'm missing something. His band is fine, but I think Bruce is a terrible singer.

I also met Nils Lofgren but didn't know he was in the E Street band at the time. He was an a-hole.

Bruce Springsteen vs. Ped Nugent

Now there's two well-known names for ya; One is held in high regard and is respected all over the world for his prime musicianship, down-to-earth personality, commitment to various important social issues, his loyal fans and progressive way of thinking.

The other... Well, the first things that come to mind is a ridiculously deep sense of paranoia, and a mindnumning hatred everything that smells even remotely of progress.

So basically everyone should disregard the fact that Springsteen's played to millions and millions of people over the course of 40 years because you are all knowing on what is art or not? Get over yourself. By your rationale Kanya, Missy Elliot and Pink will be selling out stadiums in 2050. You really have thought it through.

I was never a fan of Bruce growing up, thought he was to "american". Have two friends that are die hard Springsteen followers. One spends his life savings to see him in concert the other is a lady who has seen him 78 times. I have gained respect for Bruce over the years, no longer change the station when he is on the radio, still won't buy anything from him.

Long Live Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

and a lot of other music, including Bruce Springsteen. Today I'm getting kinda old, but I still like both. The two shows I'm looking forward to the most this year is Springsteen in may and Slayer in august. Good music is good music.

Good ole Bruce...the boss...Born in the USA...apple pie, mom, and all that shit. He's gone extreme over the last few years, he might as well be in Fidel Castro's goose-stepping military marching band, playing his anthems of praise.

hate Springsteen all you want, but don't fault his work ethic. The man is 63 years old and play 3 hour shows. I saw him two times within a week last year, and he changed 15 (!) of the 30+ songs from the first set list to the next.

springsteen isnt cool enuff to "hate"
---
he is boring as shit---whiner "fake america" mixed with secret commie bullshit--with some kind of weird accent that doesnt exist

shitty telecaster shit---but blinded by the light is good (cover)
--------
they call him "the boss" in the media--as a fake marketijng gene roddenberry of "rolling stone" sour shit--"libtard chesspiece"----- as a "musician" who people pretend to like in front of each other---cuz of discrepancies in sociological behavior--in the midst of the dawn of color television, computers, etc

once the "springsteen dialect" is overcome by humanity "as a species"--there will be true freedom and enjoyment

he should start rapping

Between Rage's drummer playing with Sabbath, and this guy playing with 'The Boss', HOW HYPOCRITICAL are these RATM members? Didn't they once stand against 'the man'... and now out of desperation for money because no one cares about their politic-ladean music, they whore themselves for money from Classic Rock Icons?

Next thing you will tell me is that most liberal progressives will sell their principles out to the highest bidder - see Al Gore and Al Jazeera!

I saw Springsteen play at SXSW last year and Tom Morello joined him on stage for a few songs. AMAZING show. They tore the building down. It was awesome.

Screw the haters. The Boss puts on a hell of a show.

Just like the members of RATM, the Boss supports 'the man' as you refer to it as - the regular blue collar, Working Man of America and his values.

Unlike vile greedy beats like (m)Anne Coulter and her pathetic conservative ilk. Her old man was a well-known unionbuster back in the day. A little decent research would inform your ignorant ass. (And no, Faux "News" doesn't count as a reliable news source by any stretch of the imagination.)

Bruce Springsteen: Loved and respected by people both in the US and also all over the world. A humble artist of true honor, genuine American integrity and solid values.

Ped Nugent: Hated and ridiculed by any thinking, self-respecting human on the earth. Appeals only to flagwavin', "patriotic", white trash bucktoothed NASCAR-fans and a few inbred, mouthbreathing basementdwellers here on Blabbermouth. Fuck off

Please, please, please read the lyrics to born in the usa before stating that it is some kind of American anthem. It is an angry song about the shitty way the viet nam vets were treated upon their return home from the war.

If anyone wants to hear "heavy" Springsteen before he signed to Columbia in 1972, find his recordings with the band Steel Mill. influenced by Zeppelin, Allman Brothers Band, Vanilla Fudge and Sabbath. Even opened for Sabbath once in 1970.
