Video: DAVE GROHL's SOUND CITY PLAYERS Perform At SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL - Jan. 19, 2013
SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor, all the other members of the band FOO FIGHTERS, the other surviving members of NIRVANA, plus Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Rick Nielsen of CHEAP TRICK, drummer Brad Wilk of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and several others performed with Dave Grohl last night (Friday, January 18) as part of his SOUND CITY PLAYERS at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Guest performers at last night's concert:

* John Fogerty (CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL)
* Stevie Nicks (FLEETWOOD MAC)
* Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR)
* Rick Nielsen (CHEAP TRICK)
* Chris Goss (MASTERS OF REALITY)
* Pat Smear (NIRVANA)
* Krist Novoselic (NIRVANA)
* Brad Wilk (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE)
* Lee Ving (FEAR)
* Chris Shiflett (FOO FIGHTERS)
* Taylor Hawkins (FOO FIGHTERS)
* Alain Johannes (THEM CROOKED VULTURES, ELEVEN)
* Rick Springfield
* Rami Jaffee (THE WALLFLOWERS)
* Jessy Greene (THE JAYHAWKS)

Fan-filmed video footage can be seen below.

A review of the concert is available at Billboard.com.

The show sold out within minutes of going on sale January 9 and celebrated the premiere — earlier in the day on January 18 — of "Sound City: Real To Reel", a new documentary produced and directed by Grohl.

The documentary chronicles the history of Sound City, a legendary Los Angeles studio at which dozens of classic rock albums were recorded. Grohl interviewed a number of artists for the film and also arranged for older and contemporary artists to collaborate on new music for the project.

"Sound City" will be available in theaters, on DVD and on demand on February 1. It can be pre-ordered directly from Grohl at the official film web site.

An accompanying soundtrack album will arrive on March 12. A song from that collection, "Cut Me Some Slack", featuring the members of NIRVANA and Paul McCartney, was released last month.

SOUND CITY PLAYERS has confirmed a second gig to follow the Sundance Film Festival debut. The outfit will perform at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on January 31, the same night that the movie premieres at that city's Cinerama Dome and in 44 other cities around the U.S. The show that night will feature Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, John Fogerty, members of BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, CHEAP TRICK, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and more, along with the members of FOO FIGHTERS and NIRVANA.

John Fogerty: f@cking legend. A few days ago Jason Newsteed said that Hetfield was the ultimate singer/guitarrist (I agree he is pretty good at that, among others less known) but Fogerty, if you have seen him in concert, with Creedence or solo, is a goddamn master at his craft. Much respect.

agreed. the guy did whole albums all by himself- Centerfield being one. Hell of a guitar player, voice is still intact- he doesn't need to lower the keys on all of his songs. He'll be 68 in a few months, and he's just getting better. it's weird. lol

So cool seeing Chris Goss up there. MoR should've been a a lot bigger, and 'Domino' was my favorite song of theirs.

Fuck off. Maybe it's here to piss off close-minded morons like yourself.

That is a stage full of awesomeness right there. Rick Springfield and Lee Ving on the same stage? Fuckin' A. It's rock 'n' roll and they're all having a hell of a time. If you can't appreciate that, then you're sadly lacking something vital in your life.

The guy keeps rock n' roll alive in the mainstream, shoots a movie about one of the best studios where countless rock classics were recorded, he sets up this amazing stage show, he's good buddy with BOTH Paul Mc Cartney and John Paul Jones, he records a single with Ghost, played in Nirvana (add endless list of accomplishments) and there are still people mad on him here? What bunch of sad losers some of you are.
