MISFITS Schedule New Jersey Signing Session - Jan. 21, 2013
MISFITS will take part in a in-store signing session on Saturday, February 9 at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, New Jersey.

For more information, visit www.vvinyl.com.

MISFITS will release their first "proper" live album since the 1980s, "Dea.d. Alive!", on February 5 on CD and limited-edition 12-inch vinyl plus MP3 card.

With select tracks from the band's encore set at their hometown show in New Jersey added for good measure, (recorded live on "Devil's Night," no less), "Dea.d. Alive!" is an audio Molotov cocktail guaranteed to have bonfires burning bright with pumpkin faces, day or night, all year round. Speakers will virtually melt as a torrential downpour of "Devil's Rain" engulfs the senses, catapulting you front row center into a jam-packed house of horrors.

The diverse set of modern day MISFITS classics included range from current hits like "Land Of The Dead" and "Curse Of The Mummy's Hand", on through all-new live versions of earlier-era material like "Scream!", "Dig Up Her Bones", "Helena" and more — recorded live, with a level of precision and intensity garnered in over three decades of horror business. In addition to 13 fiendish faves from the band's cryptic catalog, the live set also includes a cover version of the anthem "Science Fiction/Double Feature" (from the cult classic "Rocky Horror Picture Show") performed by the MISFITS for the first time ever on any release!

The first pressing will be made available on solid gold vinyl limited to 1,500 pieces.

"Dea.d. Alive!" track listing:

01. The Devil's Rain (3:39)
02. Vivid Red (1:44)
03. Land of the Dead (2:00)
04. Curse of the Mummy's Hand (3:18)
05. Cold in Hell (1:54)
06. Dark Shadows (3:18)
07. Death Ray (4:02)
08. Shining (2:39)
09. American Psycho (1:56)
10. Dig Up Her Bones (2:26)
11. Scream! (2:22)
12. Helena (3:24)
13. Science Fiction/Double Feature (3:17)
14. Saturday Night (4:10)

I will always love the "Misfits" Their music is part of my being.. But, I can't help but feel Jerry Only has taken what was a beautiful legacy, and completely ruined it.. I also think because of this, it destroyed any chance of a would be reunion.. He would of been wise to just have started a new band.. All Fiends would of followed any new ventures he set out on.. It's a shame.. Earth A.D just doesn't seem the same anymore..

I have to say, I met Jerry and he was a really gracious, down to earth guy; he even invited me on the bus to sign a stack of records for me!

That being said, I really wish he would come to terms with the fact that "The Misfits" isn't his vision. It was the vision of Glenn Danzig. And although I'm not against the later era Misfits or even Jerry's Misfits per se, I think that when the opportunity came up a few years ago for a reunion with Glenn and Doyle, he should have humbled himself a little. I heard it from Doyle's mouth; "Jerry fucked it all up!" If I had to wager a guess, it was due to Jerry's wanting to remain in control of his acquired company; he surely knew that once Danzig was back in, he was the new El Jefe, and I'm guessing Jerry wasn't too happy about that. And apparently his desire to keep the Misfits a PG rated 50's horror/sci-fi theme, palatable for young Christians was also on his mind.

Seriously Jerry, give it up. Your run is over. Now step back in the "1, 2, 3, 4!" seat again and let Glenn take over! It's long over due.

It's not the same without Doyle & Glenn, or even Doyle and Michael Graves imho. I don't blame Jerry Only for wanting to continue onwards though.

why not just put the whole set on the cd? guess they don't want glenn receiving many royalty's because there's none of his songs are on there. pretty sure that part of the settlement was that danzig gets a portion of everything they sell anyway.

Jerry is a tool. False Misfits, don't support this joke of a band. I can respect him for playing for this many years & being in the classic band, but this is just too far. Not to mention, his material is next to terrible.

The Misfits schedule New Jersey signing session? Should really just read Jerry Only schedules New Jersey signing session.

There hasn't been anything remotley interesting about The Misfits since they broke up in 83 and Danzig left a sinking ship. Since then, Jerry Only has done nothing but put together a lame ass cartoon heavy metal version of one of the most original punk bands ever in existence (which spawned countless nauseating knock off wannabe horror-billy shit stain bands) and just wrote songs about horror movies that Danzig didn't already cover the first time around.

I guess once the guy realized Kryst The Conquerer had hilariously gay diarreah written all over it, the guy panicked and decided to milk the only thing he was ever known for for all it was worth. Then he took a perfectly un-tarnished legacy and smeared his Christian feces all over it. Fuck you Jerry, you're not keeping anything alive you're just hammering more nails into its' casket. Do the Misfits a favor, fuck off and go back to working in your dad's factory and let it all just rest in peace.
