SKID ROW: New Album To Be Mastered This Week - Jan. 28, 2013
SKID ROW has completed recording and mixing its new album, "United World Rebellion - Chapter 1", tentatively due later this year via an as-yet-undisclosed record label. Some of the sessions for the CD, which will be mastered this week, took place at Open Sky Studio, the Atlanta, Georgia-based facility owned and operated by producer/drummer Mike Froedge (DREADED MARCO, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DOUBLEDRIVE, SPEED X), and the Bonehead Studio, also in Atlanta.

Singer Johnny Solinger has finished laying down vocals on the new SKID ROW album, "United World Rebellion - Chapter 1", tentatively due later this year via an as-yet-undisclosed record label. Some of the sessions for the CD took place at Open Sky Studio, the Atlanta, Georgia-based facility owned and operated by producer/drummer Mike Froedge (DREADED MARCO, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DOUBLEDRIVE, SPEED X), and the Bonehead Studio, also in Atlanta.

SKID ROW singer Johnny Solinger recently stated about "United World Rebellion - Chapter 1": "This truly is a special record. Can't wait for you all to hear it."

In support of the new SKID ROW CD, the band will embark on a U.K. headlining tour in April.

The group's bassist Rachel Bolan previously told Times-Standard.com about SKID ROW's forthcoming sixth LP, "I think the next record, as far as what Snake [guitarist Dave Sabo] and I are writing, is going back to what people would expect from SKID ROW. We're looking forward to it."

SKID ROW's last album "Revolutions Per Minute", was released on October 24, 2006 via SPV Records.

The band in 2010 parted ways with drummer Dave Gara and replaced him with Atlanta native Rob Hammersmith.

Rob spent many years touring and recording with Atlanta-based rockers ROCKETS TO RUIN and has performed with GUNFIRE 76, the band featuring MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13.

This isnt Skid Row. I mean if Eddie Van Halen left Van Halen would it still be Van Halen? Until Sebastian is fronting them this band will continue to be the 5th band on a festival package or play local dive bars. I really like the 3 original 3 cd's and 1 ep but havent bought or listened to anything since.

Wrong, Eddie is Van Halen's main songwriter, he wrote all the hits (sans lyrics). Baz had nothing to do with writing Skid Row's hits.

Pretty sure Bach wrote on 'Monkey Business', 'Slave to the Grind' & 'In a Darkened Room'. Didn't know only the first album counted as the 'hits'. If you don't know what you're talking about, then why are you on here. This album will suck like the other 2 with this bozo.

The first album is what made Skid Row, those were the actual hits. Those other songs didn't even chart.

Rachel and Snake wrote all the songs with the ocassional input from the other members.
The real problem is that with Solinger they have been doing some shitty music and not the kick ass albums they made with Sebastian.
Sebastian has a tremendous stage presence and personality and nobody will replace him well in Skid Row.
Hope this new album would be more heavier and aggressive than the last two.

So irritating when bands do a Part 1 and then never follow up with part 2. I don't think Skid Row has it in them to develop a coherent plan to do a part 2 of whatever this album is.

Not really craving a Skid Row reunion but I just don't get it.

Why no reunion? It would be shit ton of cash, and it's not like this band is known for its artistic integrity.

Just suck it up and get Bach bach... er, back. I'd pay to see Slave To The Grind played in its entirety with the original lineup. A lot of people would.

Screw Snake & Bolan and their second world's greatest tribute band, right behind GNR of course.

I think "Thickskin" was a great album, with the traditional songs they used to write plus a new good singer. "Revolution per Minute" was the worst. Maybe because it was written exclusively by Rachel Bolan, you can just hear that punk vibe.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy their punk side, but a whole album with this was really not Skid Row...

Get that right people! The problem is and was that Bolan had and maybe still does (time will tell) the urge to mix in a lot more punk infuences (and post grunge) in the stuff without Bach.

Solinger is a great singer! I saw "Skid Row" a couple of years ago and i was more than impressed that he reached all the high notes that I only thought Baz (more or less) could do.

I would love for a reunion w/ Baz but I will listen to the new album to see if Bolan can contol his punk-self and make this one heavier and melodic, just like slave to the fuckin grind.

And yes , Axl is a dirtbag!

I just don't get it. Why doesn't this band re-unite? They have all the members left and all the fans would love to seem them back togeheter, so why in the hell not. Because they don't like each other? How many people in big bands like each other after all these ears? Just look at Arerosmith, Def Leppard and all the other bands. They don't get seem to get along that well anymore but they keep on working anyway. Why? because they owe it to their fans, the people that once made them what they are today. They like making them happy.

I mean, on this level they don't even have to travel together, the only time the need to see eact other is on stage.
So stop dragging the Skid Row brand down the toilet and make something worthy of the name.
