BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH's LOVE & DEATH: 'Between Here & Lost' First-Week Sales Revealed - Jan. 30, 2013
"Between Here & Lost", the debut album from LOVE & DEATH, the band led by former KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, sold around 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 95 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on January 22 via Tooth & Nail Records.

Recorded in Nashville with producer Jasen Rauch (RED, BREAKING BENJAMIN) and mixed by Paul Pavao, Ben Grosse (MARILYN MANSON, DISTURBED) and Jim Monti (KORN), "Between Here & Lost" consists of 11 tracks, ranging from songs about personal struggle and triumph ("Chemicals", "My Disaster", "Paralyzed") to emotionally charged anthems ("Fading Away", "Watching The Bottom Fall") to a riff-heavy rendition of DEVO's 1980 hit "Whip It".

LOVE & DEATH is comprised of Welch, lead guitarist JR Bareis, bassist Michael Valentine, and drummer Dan Johnson.

Like the album title suggests, "Between Here & Lost" captures the honesty of light and darkness, beauty and tragedy, good and evil, delivered by a band with intense passion and commitment to the message of its music.

"This record was birthed from trials, tribulations, pain, suffering, anxiety, depression, and drama," stated Welch. "However, we came out on top and the end result is a very real, raw and honest record. We are so stoked for people to hear it! From our opening song, 'The Abandoning', to our cover of DEVO's 'Whip it', to our collaboration with Mattie Montgomery from FOR TODAY on 'I W8 4 U', It's an exciting piece of art and the listener will feel the different range of emotions with the lyrics and melodies of each song."

"Between Here & Lost" track listing:

01. The Abandoning
02. Whip It
03. Watching The Bottom Fall
04. By The Way...
05. Meltdown
06. My Disaster
07. I W8 4 U (featuring Mattie Montgomery)
08. Fading Away
09. Paralyzed
10. Chemicals
11. Bruises

LOVE & DEATH formed when Welch decided to have open auditions on YouTube in 2009. "I picked the guys and then had a jam session in Phoenix," says Welch. "Over the last couple of years, there have been a few lineup changes as we went through normal growing pains. The current band has been together and touring for a while now and they are a big part of the new music and the future of LOVE & DEATH."

LOVE & DEATH will be touring extensively in 2013 to support the effort.

Check out the shirt that dude on the right is wearing. He must have raided his sister's closet to find a plunging neckline like THAT.

Yea, you are SO important to the future of QR :-)

Really dig the two tracks I've heard from L&D; plan to pick this up later in the week!

Totally solid release. I bought it & am rocking it almost everyday. It kicks ass! Its better than anything Korn has put out - because its pretty evident that Head was the old Korn we loved.

he wrote that he almost didn't make it into Korn- when the rest of the guys had LAPD, they didn't want him in the band... he really fought his way into the band when they were sort of dicks to him back then.

After he quit the band, it's obvious now who was behind Korn's good stuff. I'm not into what came after Life is Peachy, but I think it's undeniable how good those first 2 albums were- and even some of Follow the Leader was ok too. It's ok to hate on Korn because they spawned some of the most terrible bands to ever disgrace music, however, these dudes are the real deal. I hope they can get back together with David and release one more old school Korn record- the new drummer is a beast, but not a good fit for Korn. He kinda looks like Kid Rock's cousin.

Why does everyone have to try to look so 'bad' in promo shots, it's so cliche. The dude on the far right looks like Justin Beiber and Alice Cooper had a love child...I'm sure he's a great guy though....not hating, just observing....

Glad it sold well considering it's technically their first album. Big props. I'm digging it.

Ok so these guys look fucking stupid and fake. The guy on he far left looks retarded. I think he ate too many hoarded tweenkies and then got into his grandmas makeup. Head looks like this chick I used to know who was all about Marilyn Manson, only she had no beard. The guy on he right looks like Justin Bieber and Draco Malfoy had a baby together. Given Head is a jesus freak I am sure if it were uo him the track listing woulda looked like this...

01. The Abandoning Of Jesus On The Cross
02. Whip It Out And Have Jesus Sign That Shit
03. Watching The Bottom Fall Off Of Jesus's Sandals
04. By The Way... I Have Jesus Inside Me
05. Meltdown Jesus From The Cross
06. My Disaster After Atempting To Save Jesus
07. I W8 4 U Praise You Jesus (featuring Mattie Montgomery)
08. Fading Away From The Image Of Jesus On The Horizon
09. Paralyzed Until Jesus Heals Me
10. Chemicals I Shot Up With Jesus
11. Bruises That Were Healed By Jesus

Let me guess, you're probably the type of guy that laughs at his own jokes and people try to avoid hanging around coz they secretly think you're a dick but don't have the heart to tell you?

Thought so.

...The new album by Head's band is better than anything Korn has put out in a decade. The song in the video above is actually one of the worst songs on the album. I W8 4U is a killer song.

At first I wasn't sure what to think, but if you listen to the whole album, it's pretty killer. Definitely worth a few bucks. It's also obvious that Head's guitar playing is what MADE Korn.

If you listen to his new band, you will see that Korn need him a LOT more than he needs them. Also, these sales figures are actually very good for a brand new band, even one from one of the guys in Korn.
