HAVOK: 'Point Of No Return' Video Released - Jan. 30, 2013
"Point Of No Return", the new video from Denver-based metallers HAVOK, can be seen below. The song is the title track to the band's EP, released last spring as a tide-me-over release while the band continued their non-stop touring. The video was directed by Roy Warner and was filmed on location in Detroit, Michigan.

Discussing the video, HAVOK vocalist/guitarist Dave Sanchez says,: "The lyrics of 'Point Of No Return' are highly interpretable, but the message of the video pretty simple. The world as we know it is a delicate place and we have never had such a high capacity to destroy the human race as we do now. At some point, our self-made concoction of nuclear/biological weaponry, ancient superstitious beliefs, nationalism, corruption, ignorance, and conflicting ideologies is going to become lethal: on a global scale. We live in a time like no other and it's obvious that if we don't change our behavior, its only a matter of time before the world is extinguished at the hand of fanatics. It's literally within everyone's power to leave the world a little nicer than we found it. Don't believe everything you've been told: Think for yourself."

Director Roy Warner notes: "Working with the guys from HAVOK was great. They had awesome ideas to start out with and build from; wanting to showcase real life as the concept. It really illustrates the depths of human depravity in the past, present and what we can expect from the future if attitudes don't change."

Now with the band busy at work recording their new album, anticipated for early summer release, HAVOK fans can expect the Denver-based thrashers to keep an active schedule for 2013. Sanchez says: "On a lighter note, we're currently wrapped up in the studio writing album #3. We should be finished recording in March and then, in usual HAVOK fashion, we'll tour practically all year! There are lots of exciting things coming up in 2013. Keep an eye out for tour dates and we'll see all of you on the road soon!! Until then, spread the word and support heavy metal."

HAVOK is guitarist/vocalist Dave Sanchez, bassist Jesse de los Santos, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Pete Webb.

Pity about the heinous video :(
Do we really need that stuff in a music video?
But yeah, I liked the song \m/

Clearly they're just doing this for fun. No intention of creating anything remotely original, different or forward thinking. I would've loved this a couple of years ago, heard too many bands with this boring retro thrash sound now to care.
Good luck to these guys though, I remember them from the myspace days when they sounded a little more fresh.
