Video: Reunited METAL CHURCH Performs On '70000 Tons Of Metal' - Feb. 3, 2013
The reunited METAL CHURCHRonny Munroe on vocals, Kurdt Vanderhoof and Jay Reynolds on guitars, Steve Unger on bass, and Jeff Plate on drums — celebrated its official reunion on board 70000 Tons Of Metal, the world's biggest heavy metal cruise.

For one of their two shows on board, they played their debut album, "Metal Church", in its entirety. The other show was a "greatest-hits" set.

Fan-filmed video footage of their performance can be seen below.

METAL CHURCH called it quits after performing at the Rocklahoma festival in July 2009 in Pryor, Oklahoma.

"This Present Wasteland", the latest album from METAL CHURCH, sold 920 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD artwork was submitted by a fan via a MySpace contest.

METAL CHURCH's previous album, "A Light in the Dark", came out in June 2006 via SPV. The LP included a new version of the classic "Watch The Children Pray" as a tribute to vocalist David Wayne, who passed away in May 2005.

Mike Howe is living in Tennessee and working in construction. Last I heard he's married with a family.

But a REAL Re-united Metal Church would look more like, Mike Howe vocals, Kurt and Craig Wells or John Marshall guitars, Duke on bass and Kirk Arrington on drums.

Not that tribute band with Kurt in it...

I'm getting a little tired of Metal Church reuniting. They are currently on their third reunion. Either stay together or call it a day for good.

Ronny acts like a singer (not a good thing) but sings his ass off and is one of the best out there. The music is what counts.

Some said Monroe has a case of LSD, I believe it. If you could pull that shit off, you'd get an attitude ,too.

Ok, so this is 1/10 of whatever Metal Church you want to see. But somehow, it is still very good. How? I don't know. Maybe Jeff Plate adds to the mix. I'm still bitter, because my Weight of the World cd was in my cd player in my car when it got stolen from my car the early morning after Thanksgiving (2005) when some gang punks broke my window and stole my radio from my car. I always found it funny (in retrospect), because I got the radio on clearance at Target. I paid more for my new car window than I did for my radio. They could have just removed my window and made more of a profit.

Munroe is a great voice.

Just to continue the trend:

No Karl Sacco (original M.C. drummer from the Haight ST, S.F> days)=no Metal Church....Ha!

I remember reading years ago that John Marshall was fired because he was taller and more imposing on stage than Kurdt.

Anyone else recall that?

I was a huge fan of Metal Church during the David Wayne era and the Mike Howe/John Marshall era. I still listen to the first album, The Dark, Blessing in Disguise, The Human Factor & Hanging in the Balance pretty frequently.

I've tried but I just could never get into the band during the Ronny Munroe era.

I'll give them another chance.

was not there, no reason given yet. That was Rick Van Zandt, who was with the band during the last few years and was on the last album from MC.

At The Country Club in Reseda when Metallica opened for Metal Church "unannounced" (but word got around fast the day before). It was Newsted's second show and they needed to break him in before heading off to Europe. It was tough for the Church boys to come on after that....LOL

I bought the debut on vinyl when it came out and enjoyed the Howe incarnation as well.

Monroe seems like a real stand-up guy but I just can NOT listen to the "MC" releases with him on it. It doesn't even sound like the same band.
