SLAYER Classic Used As Wedding Intro Song - Feb. 13, 2013
When Dan Phillipps and his wife Kinga got married at The Staaten in Staten Island, New York on September 24, 2011, they chose an unlikely song as their wedding intro: SLAYER's "Raining Blood" (see video footage below).

Asked why he chose this particular track to serve as the introduction to the newly hitched couple, Dan told BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "SLAYER has always been a very special band to me. SLAYER, METALLICA and ANTHRAX were the reasons I got into heavy metal. I remember first hearing 'Hell Awaits' in 1987 and being blown away. I never heard anything like it.

"When I first met Kinga, I didn't know she was into extreme music. She's from Poland so I randomly asked her if she heard of BEHEMOTH or VADER. To my surprise, she heard of them and had seen them live in concert a few times. So we instantly clicked. Our second date was a ROTTING CHRIST concert.

"When I was planning our wedding intro, I knew that I didn't want your typical wedding music for our intro. I spoke to Kinga about it and she agreed. A standard wedding intro just didn't seem right for my wife and I. Something about the 'Raining Blood' intro seemed like the perfect walk-out music for us. I got goosebumps just thinking about it. Most of my friends and family loved our intro. They said it was perfect for my wife and I."

Best. Wedding. Intro. Ever!

Although he nearly takes her fucking arm off jumping around, she does a good job of cooling him down. I'm normally Mr cynical with these things but this just hit the spot, good on them.

She only Likes the Love Ballads from Rotting Chirst, though, so it's frustrating.

Came in expecting it to be a gay wedding...

...left pleasantly surprised.

(Seriously, who ever figured that Slayer fans got any ass?)

He was excited, its his friggin wedding day. He's probably pumped to begin with and that song gave him an extra blast of adrenaline.

He's happy, she's happy, they were enjoying their day and the excitement got to him.

Good for them and may they have many long, happy, healthy years.

Yeah ya know maybe if he walked with a confident "I'm the man" strut it MIGHT be a little more palatable. Instead he looks like a 10 yr. old and embarrasses himself and his wife who must love men that act immature little boys.

Let the couple who picked THEIR OWN music to be introduced to, have their day.. I been to so many awful weddings where is all you see is the fucking chicken dance and old boring, shitty music is played.

Bunch of fucking haters who can't stand to see someone else have a good time. No one got hurt and it looked to me as if they have FUN with it.

It's a marriage, you might as well go out in style. I should of had so much fun during my own wedding.

this is kind of gay
mostly because the dude seems more into the tune than standing there with his new bride....he seems more intent on impressing his friends with his music choice...

I wasn't there but my brothers and mom were at my mom's cousin's wedding a few years ago and Enter Sandman was used as couple's walkout song. My brother said it felt very weird. I think there's time and place for metal, but at a wedding seems kinda odd to me. This has nothing to do with personal tastes. Personally, I'm a big Slayer fan but I just don't think I'd use it at a wedding.

For instance, one time I went to a hookah bar/night club and there was a jukebox. At first there was some techno/dance music on and a lot of people were on the floor dancing to it. Personally, I couldn't stand the music but it fit. After the song was over some guys put on some shitty metal bands for 30 minutes and it drove everyone else out of the place lol.

I played metal at my wedding reception. It was our day and my wife was the one that even suggested it. We've always had metal and hardcore music in common. Good on this couple. When I wrote Lamb of God that I'd put one of their songs on my wedding reception playlist they totally got a kick out of it. SO much better than some dry Kenny G crap.

Playing metal during the dancing part of the reception for a few tunes ....no problem.... actually encouraged.

Walking out to it during the intoduction of the Bride & Groom.... juvenile
