Original TROUBLE Drummer JEFF 'OLY' OLSON To Play Keyboards On Band's Next Album - Feb. 16, 2013
Original TROUBLE drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson (who is currently playing with RETRO GRAVE and IN-GRAVED) will appear on TROUBLE's next, as-yet-untitled album, due for release later in the year. Olson states: "[I've] been working on some [keyboard] intros [for the CD]."

TROUBLE announced in February 2012 that it recruited Kyle Thomas as the band's new singer following the departure of the group's frontman of the four years, Kory Clarke (of WARRIOR SOUL fame).

Thomas, former lead vocalist for EXHORDER, FLOODGATE and ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, was no stranger to TROUBLE as he previously fronted the band for four live shows between 1997 and 1999, including Stoner Hands Of Doom festival in Maryland and Expo Of The Extreme in Chicago. Thomas has also collaborated on projects with members of SLIPKNOT, DOWN, OBITUARY and DEICIDE.

Olson left TROUBLE in 1986 to teach music while also writing musical scores and later receiving a Bachelor Of Music degree in Film Scoring (cum laude) from Berklee College of Music. Olson returned to the band for the albums "Run To The Light" (Hammond Organ), "Trouble" (pre-pro for drums, keys), "Plastic Green Head" (drums), "Simple Mind Condition" (drums, French Horn), "Unplugged" and "Live in L.A.".

In July 2008, Olson announced his departure from TROUBLE. His last show with them took place at The End in Nashville, Tennessee on July 19, 2008.

I love Warrior Soul's first three albums but and i'm sure it would sound pretty good to hear Kory Clarke singing Trouble classics but going forward i just couldn't picture his rhetoric sitting comfortably with doom/stoner music. So it's probably for the best that they got someone else to move forward with.

Still gonna miss Eric but i will hope for the best and look forward to a new Trouble album. If they put as much time and effort into the arrangements as they did on Manic Frustration it'll be awesome.

Great drummer!! Why not play drums for Trouble? One step closer to a reunion I imagine.

How low can you go! There's no place for keyboards in metal. Sorry, but there just isn't.

Well, this probably explains his bowing out of The Skull...

yeah, wtf? this guy is hot and cold, all over the map, commits and then he doesn't. Was involved in the skull, then he wasn't, and I'm pretty sure that band was his idea to begin with, and now on the new trouble. Love his work, just don't understand all static.

Looking forward to Kyle's vocals on the new trouble, it's been a long time in the making, and that shit should be out by now. come on guys.

And what fucktard says that keyboards can't be in metal? Iron Maiden, Priest, and Sabbath aren't metal now? that is some 80's bullshit man.

It Might Be A Cool Record But It Won't Be A Trouble Record Without Eric

Trouble has been hanging this next album release update for, well, so many years. It even had a working title, The Dark Riff. Said it was gonna be back to Psalm 9 and The Skull type heaviness. That was ages ago, whatever happened to that? Is it still going to be heavy or is it going to sound flower-poppy-stoner kind of hard rock? Of course I prefer the original singer and drummer but I'll buy the CD whoever is in singing and drumming. Only, I will pay attention to their updates when they actually release this album.
