OZZY OSBOURNE's Son JACK Filming BLACK SABBATH's Comeback - Feb. 19, 2013
According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack is the brains behind the behind-the-scenes video (see below) that takes viewers into the studio for a glimpse of the making of BLACK SABBATH's new album, "13". All three original members — singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler — seem enthusiastic about finally working together again after 35 years, with Iommi saying about the album, "You can't always repeat what you've done, you've just got to go on. It'll be today's version of how it was 40 years ago, I suppose."

Ozzy has consistently said over the years that any new SABBATH project had to live up to the standards of the band's early, classic records. "If I had an album which blew 'Master Of Reality' off the map, I'd be crazy not to do it," he said, according to The Pulse Of Radio. "I don't want to put an album out, just for the sake of us four being on an album."

Elsewhere in the video, Ozzy says, "This BLACK SABBATH album is quite possibly the most important album of my career," while Butler adds, "We'll probably all be dead soon, so while we still can play and sing, then we've got to do it."

The three originals are joined on the album by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE drummer Brad Wilk, who may or may not tour with them as well. Founding drummer Bill Ward is sitting out the reunion over a contractual dispute.

"13" is expected out this June, with a North American tour to follow in July and August.

Jack found fame through his family's MTV reality show "The Osbournes" and has since appeared in several other TV programs. In 2011 he produced a documentary about his father called "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" which, according to The Telegraph, contained admissions from the singer's five children that Ozzy was not a good father in their younger years, and that their abiding memories were of him hopelessly intoxicated, or, more usually, absent altogether.

Jack did a good job with God Bless Ozzy, I really liked the part when Bill Ward was the only member of Black Sabbath to show up to Ozzy birthday party.

There better be a 1 hour + making of documentary DVD that comes with the new album.

What is it with bands releasing bonus DVD's with their albums with a making of that's only 20-30 minutes long?

to see that Bill's not involved. But what I'm seeing so far, it's really looking like there's an almost palpable fear of death and a "hey, let's put together and give it one last shot before we keel over."

I'm hoping it's depressing, sad, lead heavy and full of quirks that the Sabbath we all know and love and grew up with, had.

You're hoping it's that signature Sabbath they want to leave us with. They INVENTED a genre that's gotten me through so many rough times.

Utmost respect to the Kings.

Dave Walker (vocals)
And Bill Fuck as the road manager

Only THEN will it be a true reunion...

Certainly not now. This isn't a reunion.

Its a cash grab, something to help Tony pass time and as Geezer says something to do since they'll all die soon anyway.

Black Sabbath died a graceful death with The Last Supper....then suffered on "life support" headlining Ozzfest for 35 years after, making sure every living male in the world had a chance to see them play their greatest hits "Sold out Souls" set, occasionally without even Ozzy. Then a resurrection with Dio and H&H through a lovely exit phase of some of the heaviest shit ever to be put onto a stage...until Ronnie's inevitable passing (no vegetables for life? How long could that have really lasted?). Put a fork in this bullshit.

Let Tony rest and enjoy his last months/years on Earth without painful debilitating chemo treatment, have Ian Gillan sit in for Ozzy, get Jimmy Page to play the leads, and bring back Bill Fuck or even Ringo to lay the drum tracks out...all with Geezer on the 4 string...call it Black Sabbath Lite...then fukkin retire. Exit with some self respect and dignity please.

Funniest thing is, Bill was always they one they thought would drop dead on tour, not Ozzy or Tony.

Maybe Bill should assemble a list of one-hit metal wonders and has-beens and mimic the Ringo All Starr tour. He could fill a heavy bankroll on this, and call it Bill's Fucks. Bill Ward, Rudy Sarzo, Geoff Taint, Fred Coury, Fred Durst, Serj, Bucketdick, and special guest Minday McCready's rotting corpse. I smell summer tour profits...even on the merch alone...

Let Charlie Sheen and Tyson open each show just showing up and talking.

In other words, it's over. It's been over. It's highly doubtful 13 will mean anything other than being final.

Rick Rubin must have the death touch on retired artists...last stop before the afterlife: Rubin's production input.

All humor aside, I am a lifelong "original four lineup" Sabbath fan. Flew to Phoenix for NY's Eve 1998 and the 1st American show with all four back together. Why tarnish that legacy with this shit. Everyone rags on Plant for dissing the Zep reunion, but it's the right thing to do (take a knee, not a victory lap).

Now when is that Pretty Boy Floyd reunion going to happen?

Sorry! You are not a long time fan of this band. It's a bit obvious with your moronic suggestions.

So you're giving months for Sabbath members to live out their days?

Words cannot describe how much of an idiot you are!

You're dying days should be spent with centipedes caving through your nasal cavity.

Tony Martin was/is an amazing singer.
He made some great albums with Sabbath and was also the only Sabbath singer who did justice to the Dio era songs live.

But honestly, I don't think Sabbath w/ Martin would work again.

Enough of this shitting all over the other three in Sabbath. At least they are making an album. Geezer's right: they may or may not have much time left before they die. Why waste time? Bill seems to be with his refusal to be involved. Even so, it'll be interesting to see how many people who initially spat and shit all over the idea of a non-Bill Ward/Rick Rubin-produced Sabbath album singing the album's praises when they hear it.

Blame Bill if you wanna whine about it not being fully Sabbath.
Brad Wilk is a fucking phenomenal drummer and the album will shut us all up as we listen in awe.
