SKID ROW Signs With MEGAFORCE RECORDS - Feb. 21, 2013
Veteran rockers SKID ROW have inked a deal with Megaforce Records. The band's new EP, "United World Rebellion - Chapter One", will be released in North America on April 16, with an international release date to be announced shortly. Some of the sessions for the CD, which was mastered last month, took place at Open Sky Studio, the Atlanta, Georgia-based facility owned and operated by producer/drummer Mike Froedge (DREADED MARCO, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DOUBLEDRIVE, SPEED X), and the Bonehead Studio, also in Atlanta.

Commented SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo: "We've known the Megaforce family and their various incarnations since 1982. Their history and legacy speaks for itself. We always thought that at some point we would work together and this turned out to be the perfect time and vehicle for us to finally do it. They have a sincere belief in what we're doing and what our vision is which is really rare today. Needless to say, this is a very exciting time for us!"

The first new release from SKID ROW since 2006's "Revolutions Per Minute", "United World Rebellion - Chapter One" is the first of three plus three EPs that will be made available over the next 12-18 months.

Explained SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan: "We wanted to do something different. Living in an age of information overload, it seemed like the perfect time to try something new. We came up with the idea to release three consecutive EPs over the course of the next year or so. This way we have new music out there on a consistent basis. And who better to do that with than Megaforce? They practically invented the EP! 'United World Rebellion – Chapter One' ROCKS!"

SKID ROW singer Johnny Solinger recently stated about "United World Rebellion - Chapter One": "This truly is a special record. Can't wait for you all to hear it."

A first look at the "United World Rebellion - Chapter One" cover art is available below.

An audio sample of the song "Kings Of Demolition" can be streamed using the audio player below.

To coincide with the "United World Rebellion - Chapter One" release, SKID ROW will embark on a world tour beginning April 4 in Ipswitch, England. This will carry them through the U.K., along with stops in the Czech Republic, Sweden, Mexico and Korea, just to name a few. In the coming months, this will be followed by a full-on North American tour.

SKID ROW's last album "Revolutions Per Minute", was released on October 24, 2006 via SPV Records.

The band in 2010 parted ways with drummer Dave Gara and replaced him with Atlanta native Rob Hammersmith.

Rob spent many years touring and recording with Atlanta-based rockers ROCKETS TO RUIN and has performed with GUNFIRE 76, the band featuring MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13.

I was expecting the worst but was taken by surprise. Musically the sample sounds pretty good, soundwise it's a bit muddy.

Live he is avg. at best.

This band needs Bach more then they think. He may not be a great song writer but what he does is bring an edge to it. He has a vision and is able to get people to create a certain sound and feel at the end of the day. His solo albums are more of an extention of Skid Row then what Skid Row has put out.

More like Snake came up with the idea for Down to do a few EP's and took his idea back. I don't know, I like Johnny live and there were enough good songs for one great disc on the last two albums, but his voice isn't doing it for me here. I really want to like them, but I don't know happened to their songwriting either. They just don't write great songs anymore. Anyway, I'll give a chance. But that singer just seems to be missing something. Also, EP's may be the way of the future. But I think they suck!

I really love that audio sample. It definitely sounds like Skid Row.
I'm so happy it sounds nothing like their last CD 'Revolutions Per Minute' which was absolutely terrible.

actually, song is not bad
but as much as this singer somewhat sounds like Sebastian
face it, no one will truly give a fuck if it's not Sebastian fronting the band....

it's a shame too....because this song would really get some attention with Sebastian on it

What's with bands putting out several EPs over actual albums? Down's doing it and now Skid Row is. In my opinion, I'd rather a full-length album.

I don't know... assuming they release EPs more frequently than full-lengths, this might be the better approach in the long run...

Snake Sabo manages Down.
It was his idea for them to put out several EP's. So, naturally he would try it with Skid Row as well.

of the people that would to see Skid Row in a bar, don't even know Bach isn't with the band.

Snake manages Down? Seen him at a few shows. I thought he was just friends with Philip and Rex from the Pantera tours they did together.

From what i remember about Skid Row back in the day, lots of Pussy at the shows. They were big for about 15mins.

As a big Skid Row fan I have to say the problem isn't necessarily the singer, the thing is they haven't been doing heavy kick ass albums like the ones they have done with Bach. If this EP and the next are in the vein of those albums it would be really great.

I was never a fan. Alright, I admit, I listened a lot to Slave to the grind back in 1991-2. This sounds like Skid Row. I can't stand Bach other than when he sings and this sounds a bit like him, so it's a win win I guess.

The band sounded as good as ever, but that singer sucks! Seriously - don't sing S. Bach's stuff if you can't pull it off.

Fire the fuck.

Just think of the record label that agreed to distribute the 500 copies of cd's. Sell your stock in that company.

In all honest, it sounds aggressive! It's a step forward
