ALICE IN CHAINS Guitarist Comments On Latest GRAMMY Nomination
December 14, 2010ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell has commented on the band's nomination in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
ALICE IN CHAINS has been nominated for a "Hard Rock" Grammy seven times since 1992, but has yet to walk away with the award.
"It's nice to be nominated as many times as we have," Cantrell told AOL's Noisecreep. "To be included among so many other artists over the years that we admire and respect means a lot."
He added, "We put hard work and effort into the music we make, and to have the academy and our peers recognize it is cool. Maybe one of these decades we'll win one."
"Best Hard Rock Performance" nominees:
* ALICE IN CHAINS - "A Looking In View" (from "Black Gives Way to Blue")
* OZZY OSBOURNE - "Let Me Hear You Scream" (from "Scream")
* SOUNDGARDEN - "Black Rain" (from "Telephantasm")
* STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - "Between The Lines" (from "Stone Temple Pilots")
