Good goat almighty, the South Americans have struck again! This time it is an elite Chilean unit known as PERVERSOR that has left a path of death and destruction after an 18-minute carpet-bombing and napalm run, code-named "Demon Metal". Your mission? Get your ass down and pray to your god like you've never prayed before.

In civilian vernacular, the "Demon Metal" EP is an IMPIETY-like bringer of Armageddon that shares quite a few similarities with "Filipino Antichrist", an album released earlier from Hells Headbangers label mates DEIPHAGO. Every bit as barbaric, harrowing, and speed killing as that album, what PERVERSOR does exceptionally well is focus the calamity (to a certain extent anyway) by unleashing a firestorm of excellent riffs and breakneck rhythms that demand one's head is repeatedly banged. As always, terms like "focus" are relative ones when used in the context of this most primal of styles. This is some damn dandy blackened battle thrash that is guaranteed to send scenesters, posers, and hippies running for cover, much like what happens with all those cockroaches that scurry away when you flip the light on in that filthy kitchen of yours.

Those that find nothing endearing, "kvlt," or otherwise about a lo-fi recording (well suited to the attack I might add),progression in metal, and a complete lack of sensitivity to modern conceptions of bass bumped and down-tuned Pro-Tools efficiency should take off your night vision goggles and leave now. The rest of you may now put on your helmets and flak jackets, sign the waver, pop the tops of your 16-ounce cans of Old Milwaukee Light, and marvel at this overwhelming display of Chilean bellicosity. Enjoy the show.
