A DOZEN FURIES 'Risking It All' For Sake Of Video
August 18, 2005Dallas, TX-based A DOZEN FURIES, who won a highly coveted tour spot on Ozzfest 2005 after beating out North Carolina's CYNDER (now CYN) in MTV's "Battle for Ozzfest" finale, have reportedly tapped director Darren Doane (EVERY TIME I DIE, DARKEST HOUR) to film the video for their track "The Cycle" in the Californian desert on August 21. Doane had the following to say about the video treatment: "This will be by far the most dangerous video I have ever shot.... maybe that anyone has shot. A DOZEN FURIES is willing to risk it all for the sake of a video that will look like no other."
A DOZEN FURIES have set "A Concept from Fire" as the title of their debut album, due on September 13 via Sanctuary Records. The album was mixed by Josh Wilbur (ATREYU, STILL REMAINS, FUEL, CHEVELLE) and is said to be "sounding amazing," according to a posting on the group's official web site. Two tracks from the CD — "Awake and Lifeless" and "Nightmare of a Martyr" — can currently be heard at PureVolume.com.
Formed in late 2003, A DOZEN FURIES had previously released a self-produced EP ("Rip These Stars Down") and have toured extensively. The group's guitarist Marc Serrano, who was chosen to represent A DOZEN FURIES in the "Battle for Ozzfest" competition, had performed at Ozzfest 2003 as part of the now-defunct former Maverick recording artists UNLOCO.
