A PERFECT CIRCLE Frontman Happy About Musical-Political Connections

October 18, 2004

A PERFECT CIRCLE frontman Maynard James Keenan has told Launch Radio Networks that he is happy to see the group isn't alone in doing their part for the current presidential campaign, and he praised efforts like the Vote For Change and Rock Against Bush tours. "I think it's important. I think it's important, just in general, for people to become more conscious of the decisions that are made on their behalf every day," he said. "I think both of these (candidates) have pretty much ignored the younger voters — it's a shame — so I think it's great that these people are out there trying to make a difference, and trying to explain to these people that it does affect them every day."

A PERFECT CIRCLE's new political album "eMOTIVe" is scheduled for release on November 2 (Election Day). "eMOTIVe" features two new APC songs, along with covers of protest and inspirational songs such as JOHN LENNON's "Imagine", DEPECHE MODE's "People Are People", NICK LOWE's "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding", and MARVIN GAYE's "What's Going On", as well as lesser-known punk rock tracks such as FEAR's "Let's Have A War" and CRUCIFIX's "Not So Quiet On The Western Front".
