A PLEA FOR PURGING: Two New Songs Posted Online
February 5, 2009Nashville, Tennessee-based Christian metal/hardcore act A PLEA FOR PURGING has posted two new songs — "Malevolence" and "Motives" — on its MySpace page. Both tracks come off the band's new album, "Depravity", which is scheduled for a March 3 release via Facedown Records. The CD was recorded at Foundation Studios in Connersville, Indiana with producer Joey Sturgis (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, GWEN STACY, FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS, AT THE THRONE OF JUDGEMENT)
Guitarist John Wand has this to say about the creation of "Depravity". "In many ways, this album is a confession to each other and to all those who know and care for us. There have been many things in our lives that have been hidden for the better of this band and its reputation. We have all felt despair and hopelessness and blamed God for those circumstances, when in all actuality, we have driven ourselves into those dark places. 'Depravity' is the depiction of what life is without God."
A video for "Malevolence" was recently shot with director Andy Reale and will be released soon.
Formed in 2005, A PLEA FOR PURGING's debut album, "A Critique Of Mind And Thought", was released on October 2, 2007.
