AARON LEWIS' 'Country Boy' Single Certified Gold
September 23, 2011Aaron Lewis has experienced a breakthrough year as a solo artist. The singer/songwriter/guitarist's debut solo single, "Country Boy", has just been certified gold, selling in excess of 500,000 copies. The song is featured on Lewis' critically acclaimed debut solo EP, "Town Line", released earlier this year on Nashville's R&J Records.
"This is a really pleasant surprise for me," says Lewis of the gold certification for "Country Boy". "It's the first thing I recorded as a solo artist and it's just a very honest record about who I am. It's great that so many people related to it. I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio to make a full record."
"Town Line" entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart on March 9 at No. 7 with first-week sales of more than 37,000 copies, while landing in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Lewis told The Pulse Of Radio that his astonishing country success after being known as a hard rock artist was gratifying. "It is definitely reassuring that what I felt in my gut was the right thing to do, and was the right fit for me and the right place for me...I was right," he said.
"Country Boy" features guest appearances from country music legends Charlie Daniels and George Jones.
