ABSU Forced To Cancel Dallas/Ft. Worth Appearance

June 29, 2009

ABSU's scheduled Ft. Worth, TX performance tonight (Monday, June 29) has been canceled due to the band's tour bus breaking down earlier today outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The final show on the Texas-based mythological occult metal outfit's current tour was also set to feature RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER and a "special guest." The concert will be rescheduled for later this summer. All tickets for tonight's show will be honored for the new date or refunded at the point of purchase.

ABSU will perform at this weekend's Hostile City Festival in Philadelphia. Tickets are available at www.etix.com

Anthony Chowanec of All Metal Music conducted an interview with Proscriptor McGovern of ABSU on June 21, 2009 when the band played B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City with RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER and SOTHIS. The seven-minute chat is available for streaming below.

ABSU's self-titled album was released on February 24 via Candlelight Records. The CD was more or less engineered by the band, mixed by none other than J.T. Longoria at Nomad Recording Studio (KING DIAMOND, SOLITUDE AETERNUS, etc.). It was mastered by Proscriptor at his studio Tarot Productions.

Guest musicians on the album include the following:

Ashmedi (MELECHESH)
Blasphemer (ex-MAYHEM, AVA INFERI)
Equitant (ex-ABSU, EQUITANT)
David Harbour (ex-KING DIAMOND, DAVID HARBOUR)
Michael Harris (DARKOLOGY, MICHAEL Harris)
Mindwalker (THE FIRSTBORN)
Nornagest (ENTHRONED)
Vorskaath (ZEMIAL)

ABSU last year announced the addition of bassist/co-vocalist Ezezu (ex-PANZRAM) to the group's ranks.
