AC/DC: 'Black Ice' Breaks One Million Mark In U.S.
November 5, 2008AC/DC's "Black Ice" has topped The Billboard 200 chart for the second week in a row after selling 271,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Black Ice", which is exclusively available via Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and AC/DC's web site, was down 65% over its debut total, according to Billboard.com. The album has sold more than 1 million units in two weeks.
Special "pop-up" AC/DC stores are open through January 9 in New York City and Los Angeles, where Wal-Mart does not have stores.
"Black Ice" also topped the sales charts in 29 other countries last week, including the U.K., Germany, Canada, France, Argentina, Japan, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland and more.
AC/DC kicked off its world tour in support of "Black Ice" on October 28 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
