August 5, 2010On September 5, 2010, John Blake Publishing will release "AC/DC In The Studio: The Stories Behind Every Album" by music biographer Jake Brown. Featuring "exclusive" interviews with producers, engineers, as well as extensive, sourced commentary from band members on the making of such classics as "Highway To Hell" and "Back in Black", the book is "the definitive account of the making of the greatest hard rock anthems of all time," according to a press release.
"AC/DC In The Studio: The Stories Behind Every Album" is available for pre-order at Amazon.com.
As previously reported, AC/DC singer Brian Johnson revealed during an interview last week with the U.K.'s BBC Radio 2 that the band will "probably bring a live album out" at some point soon. Johnson gave no further details on the project. AC/DC's last standalone concert album, "AC/DC Live", was issued in 1992 and reissued in 2003, while the soundtrack of the concert movie "Let There Be Rock" and another live disc, "Live From The Atlantic Studios", were contained in the 1997 "Bonfire" boxed set.
AC/DC recently completed a lengthy world tour in support of 2008's "Black Ice", its first studio effort in eight years.
Johnson also said during the BBC interview that he was heading up to Newcastle to see his first grandson, named Edwin.
The band recently commemorated the 30th anniversary of the release of 1980's "Back In Black", the album which marked Johnson's debut with the group and made them into superstars. The record is tied for the fifth highest-selling album in U.S. history.
