April 7, 2005Australia's Undercover News is reporting that AC/DC's "Family Jewels" has debuted at No. 1 on DVD charts in the U.S., U.K., France, Italy, Norway and Austria.
The two-disc set is the band's first-ever documentary collection of early television performances, video clips and never-before-seen footage.
Disc One is devoted to the Bon Scott era and dates back to an early appearance on television show "Countdown", with AC/DC performing "Baby Please Don't Go", featuring Bon Scott in a schoolgirl uniform.
Disc Two centers around Brian Johnson. It captures a 10-year era from the "Back In Black" album in 1980 and finishes with the "Are You Ready" clip from 1991.
A statement released Thursday (April 7) by the band's record label, Albert Music, reads: "Albert Music proudly announces that the 'Family Jewels' DVD by AC/DC has entered the American, British, French, Italian, Norwegian and Austrian charts at Number 1 in its first week of release. We are waiting on chart information from Germany and Spain where it's also trending towards number 1. The DVD is released in Australia on Sunday, April 10th."
