AC/DC: Ultra-Rare 'BBC Transcription Services' LP Sold For Less Than $900

January 12, 2006

According to a posting on the AC/DC Highway To Hell web site, one of the most sought-after AC/DC LPs — the "BBC Transcription Services" 1976 disc, copies of which were supposed to have been returned to be destroyed by the BBC after the show was aired on the radio station — was recently sold on eBay for $887. The relatively low price was especially surprising considering the fact that the LP came complete with cue sheets and was clearly an original copy with a white label and black lettering — not to be confused with the bootleg versions, which featured an off-white label with green lettering. Check out a photo of the original LP at this location.

In other news, AC/DC Highway To Hell recently conducted an interview with Ron Carpenter, one of the original early AC/DC drummers from 1974. Read the interview at this location.
