ACCEPT Guitarist Injured In Stage Fall; Video Available

Reformed heavy metal legends ACCEPT were forced to play as a four-piece during their concert in Houston, Texas this past Saturday, May 7 after the band's guitarist, Herman Frank, suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in a stage fall the previous night in San Antonio.

Fan-filmed video footage of Frank falling down backwards while playing the song "Bulletproof" during the San Antonio concert can be viewed below. (Note: The incident in question occurs around the one-minute, 25-second mark.)

When asked why ACCEPT chose to record and perform as a four-piece after reforming in the '90s for the "Objection Overruled", "Death Row" and "Predator" albums, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann said in a September 2010 interview, "Because everyone was kind of tired of working on that second guitar player. I mean, I usually get the bad rap [laughs], like I didn't want anybody else, but the truth is really we were always in the studio with the three of us Peter [Baltes, bass], myself and Stefan Kaufmann [drums] that is, until he left and was no longer part of the writing team. The core was always drums, bass, and one guitar, and then the second guitarist usually came in for the album and tour, or just the tour. That was always a difficult spot in our band, and then you had to teach the new guy the whole set and how to play the parts right. Everyone just got sick of it, so it was easier just to have one guitar and we had a ball doing it. But, really, if you're really honest, you know that ACCEPT is a two-guitar band, so when we reformed this time we went back to what ACCEPT is really known for."

ACCEPT kicked off its massive "Blood Of The Nations 2011 Tour" of Europe on January 14.

The entire "Blood Of the Nations 2011 Tour" will involve over 80 mind-blowing concerts around the globe.
