ACEY SLADE Announces U.K. Tour

March 3, 2009

Acey Slade (former member of the MURDERDOLLS, DOPE and TRASHLIGHT VISION) has announced a ten-date U.K. tour this May. The tour will be billed as "The BurlAce Beauties and Leg Show Revue" and will feature a full headline set from Acey and his band, support from up-andcoming Nottingham act PATCHWORK GRACE and a burlesque show and competition each night.

Having not toured the U.K. with his own band for over two years. Acey is ensuring that his return gives his fans the chance to come and see an event rather than just another gig.

Each night four girls will perform burlesque dance routines as part of a nationwide competition. A winner will be chosen every night based on crowd reaction and a panel of judges, including top U.K. burlesque performer Vicky Butterfly, and, of course, Acey himself. (Vicky Butterfly has appeared in music videos with and on tour projections for ELLIOT MINOR, THE VERVE, KINGS OF LEON and PAUL WELLER, among others.) Acey and Vicky Butterfly will then pick an overall winner from the tour who wins a prize pack worth over £800, including a corset made by Hellmade Corsets, a 15x20 acrylic hand painted image of the winner by top pin-up artist Susan Heidi and clothing from Evil Needs and Drop Dead Sexy. Acey is hoping to also give the winner the chance to perform alongside Vicky Butterfly and his band at an upcoming London show.

Acey Slade said: "I'm stoked to be coming back to the U.K. with my new band and a hugely exciting show. We're playing a fresh new hybrid of electro rock punk and I can't wait for my U.K. fan base to experience it first-hand. I wanted this tour to be a real event, which is why I wanted to run 'The BurlAce Beauties and Leg Revue Show' competition. Everybody knows that the world is in a fucked up mess economically right now and I want to give people real bang for their buck when they come out to see us."

Girls wishing to take part in the competition should go to this location and submit a photo and short paragraph about themselves and details of the show they want to perform at. Full competition details can be found on this site.

The tour runs as follows:

May 13 - London The Fly
May 14 - Dumfries The Venue
May 15 - Glasgow Stereo
May 16 - Nottingham Seven
May 17 - Grimsby Yardbirds
May 18 - Manchester Satan's Hollow
May 19 - Blackburn Corrupted
May 20 - Southampton Talking Heads
May 21 - Birmingham Eddies Rock Club
May 22 - Leeds Rios

Acey's current touring band features Andee (WARRIOR SOUL) on guitar, Per C (CYLAB) on bass and Chris Kling (THEO AND THE SKY SCRAPERS, MORNINGWOOD) on drums.

Acey is planning to issue his debut solo album later this year, following the successful release of 2008's "Sex, Murder, Art, Baby!" EP.
