ACHERON Part Ways With Guitarist, Seek Replacement
March 3, 2004Longtime ACHERON guitarist Michael Estes has left the cult Columbus, Ohio-based black/death metal band. The split is being attributed to "a living situation, which put a 1,000-mile gap between the band and Estes," according to an official press release.
Commented band founder Vincent Crowley, "It was not an easy thing to part ways with Michael. He had been in the band since 1996. But him living in Orlando, Florida and the rest of the band living in Columbus, Ohio, just wasn't working out. Too much stress and work to do simple shows and working as a band was almost impossible. We are glad we were able to record the new album with Michael and we wish him the best of luck."
ACHERON have enlisted a temporary replacement in the shape of Stacey Connolly from the band LIFE IS LOST. The group, whose most recent album, "Rebirth: Metamorphosing into Godhood" (Black Lotus Records),came out in December, are currently looking for two guitarists in the Ohio area.
