ADEMA Dropped By ARISTA, Band Plan On 'Independently' Releasing Next CD

February 4, 2004

ADEMA have been dropped by Arista Records following the disappointing sales performance of the group's second full-length album, 2003's "Unstable".

The band, who parted ways with guitarist Mike Ransom late last year, are planning on "independently releasing their next album," according to a posting on the group's message board by ADEMA's official video/audio guy, Brad Nolan.

Released last August, "Unstable" has shifted 100,232 copies in the U.S. so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan — a far cry from the 661,490 units registered by its predecessor, 2001's "Adema". The band's 2002 EP offering, "Insomniac's Dream", has sold 48,922 copies to date.
