ADEMA: Original Lineup Reunion Is For The Fans
August 14, 2009The original lineup of the Bakersfield, California rock band ADEMA — Marky Chavez (vocals),David Deroo (bass),Tim Fluckey (guitar),Mike Ransom (guitar),and Kris Kohls (drums) — has issued the following update:
"So what does [the reunion] mean? We honestly have no idea. What we DO know is we are planning a DVD that has already been announced, as well as a B-sides and rarities record coming in spring that is set to include a few BRAND NEW unreleased songs from the original lineup, as well as demos, B-sides, remixes from some of our friends, and rarities from the original lineup. And, if all goes well, maybe a full record in 2010.
"We have an amazing team in place and will be putting these out on our own label, in conjunction with someone else, and we already have some amazing opportunities presenting themselves, so stay tuned for an announcement soon on that. We are also planning to put together a run of West Coast shows later this year (L.A., Bakersfield, San Diego, Modesto, etc.).
"Beyond that, we have NO idea what the future holds. We are going to take it day by day, and hopefully by the grace of God and our fans, get out there and kick everybody's a** at LEAST one more time.
"As for Ed [Faris, rhythm guitar] and Bobby [Reeves, vocals] (who we consider dear friends, and also had a big part in keeping ADEMA together over the last five years),while we had an AMAZING run with the 'Kill The Headlights' lineup, we felt, and come to find out, that Bobby even agreed that this was the right thing to do at this point for ADEMA and our fans. This SURE won't be the last you see of Bobby or Ed, and we wanted to take the time to thank them for their service in the line of duty, and thank you, the fans for sticking with us no matter what.
"Plain and simple, this is for you. And I hope everyone else is as excited as we are, and we hope you will continue to show your support, as you always have."
ADEMA's latest album, "Kill the Headlights", was released in August 2007 via Immortal Records. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Marshall Altman (MARC BROUSSARD, ZEBRAHEAD). Mastering duties were handled by Eddie Schreyer at Oasis Mastering in Burbank.
ADEMA in 2006 announced the addition of vocalist Bobby Reeves of the Los Angeles-based band LEVEL to the group's ranks. Reeves joined ADEMA as the replacement for Luke Caraccioli, who left the band in October 2005 — only six months after the release of their first album ("Planets") without the contributions of Chavez.
