AEROSMITH Guitarist Performs With JANE'S ADDICTION At LOLLAPALOOZA; Video Available

August 10, 2009

Over the weekend, AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry made a surprise appearance at Lollapalooza, sitting in with JANE'S ADDICTION on "Jane Says". Watch fan-filmed video footage of the performance below.

Perry has titled his fifth solo album "Have Guitar, Will Travel", according to Reuters. The guitarist hopes to release the disc this November and tour behind it early next year with his JOE PERRY PROJECT solo band. Perry sings on four of the album's tracks, while another four songs are handled by a previously unknown German vocalist named Hagen. Perry told The Pulse of Radio he and his wife discovered the singer on the Web. "He had a tape online," Perry said. "My wife was looking around, and somehow there was a, we came across this German kid. So we started talking back and forth, and after he was convinced we were real, and we were convinced that he was real, we finally talked to him on the phone. And once I heard the tone of his voice on the phone, I knew it was him that was singing. So he came over and worked on the record."

Perry's last solo album, a self-titled effort, came out in 2005. His three previous solo outings, all under the JOE PERRY PROJECT banner, came out during the first half of the Eighties while he was out of AEROSMITH for a few years.

"Have Guitar, Will Travel" was titled by fan Joe Piscitelli after Perry asked for suggestions through his Twitter account.

The first single from the CD is expected to be "Long Way To Go".
