AEROSMITH's Official Statement Regarding STEVEN TYLER
October 26, 2011AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler reportedly took what was described as a "nasty fall" in a hotel shower in Paraguay on Tuesday (October 25). Multiple reports out of the country, where AEROSMITH was scheduled to perform that night, say that the 63-year-old singer smashed his face, knocked out several teeth and had to go to a local hospital after falling in the shower in his room at the Bourbon Hotel.
AEROSMITH has since issued the following official statement on the matter:
"Steven Tyler suffered minor injuries as a result of food poisoning yesterday in Paraguay. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. Last night's show has been postponed until today. Steven would like to sincerely apologize to his fans in Paraguay for the inconvenience and hopes to see them all tonight."
Tyler fell from a stage in South Dakota two years ago, breaking his shoulder and leading to the cancellation of the rest of the band's 2009 summer tour.
The group took a break from the studio for the current South American trek, which it will follow with a Japanese run at the end of November.
AEROSMITH is expected to resume work on its first all-new studio album in 10 years early in 2012, immediately after the holidays.
