AEROSMITH Singer's Autobiography Coming Along

February 16, 2009

According to The Boston Globe, David Dalton is ghost writing AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler's upcoming autobiography. Not exactly a newcomer to rock writing, Dalton's authored well-received books about Janis Joplin, James Dean, and Jim Morrison, and countless articles about Marianne Faithfull, THE BEACH BOYS, and Bob Dylan. A draft of the book is due in June.

Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, last summer won an auction to publish Tyler's autobiography. The company reportedly paid more than $2 million.

In addition to being the driving force behind one of the music industry's top bands for nearly 40 years, Tyler and songwriter has a personal comeback story to tell, having overcome a heroin addiction.
