AGUA DE ANNIQUE To Release 'In Your Room' In October

September 16, 2009

AGUA DE ANNIQUE, the Dutch band led by ex-THE GATHERING vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen, will release its new album, "In Your Room", on October 30. The 12-song effort was written entirely by Anneke except for two tracks: "Just Fine" was co-written with Devin Townsend and "Adore" was composed by AGUA DE ANNIQUE bassist Jacques de Haard and Cyril Crutz. The album's first single, "Hey Okay!", will be made available on October 6.

Commented Anneke: Recording our new album in our brand new self-built recording studio was, besides lots of hard work, just a sheer blessing and the end result is to my absolute satisfaction. It's crystal clear, positive, alternative pop rock music with, of course, some melancholy.

"My three bandmates were in top form! I played a beautiful old piano on two songs. Rob [Snijders, drums] played additional keyboards.

"We have one guest on this record: Twan van Gerven, who is mainly known from his great guitar playing for Dutch band BEEF.

"The album was mastered last Monday. This week, I find myself in a sort of a vacuum between the album's deadline (yesterday) and the whirlwind of promoting my newborn, which is about to start very soon. So I sleep as much as I can and I'm trying to catch up with all domestic duties. I'm afraid, in my case, this will mean hiring a new housekeeper.

"The pre-sales for the first shows have already started and we are totally looking forward to play again after the studio period. We will, of course, perform lots of new songs and spoil your ears with recent classics from my two previous albums.

"Do come and see us — these will be the only Dutch shows till the end of 2009!"

Upcoming AGUA DE ANNIQUE shows:

Nov. 12 - Oosterpoort - Groningen, NL
Nov. 13 - Doornroosje - Nijmegen, NL
Nov. 14 - Melkweg - Amsterdam, NL
Nov. 15 - Effenaar - Eindhoven, NL
