ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY Checks In From Recording Studio

September 23, 2006

ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY is currently holed up at The Etching Tin Studios in Richmond, VA with engineer Ian Whalen putting the finishing touches on its brand new full-length, "Open Fire".

"Open Fire" will be the first ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY record to feature new vocalist Kyle Thomas (ex-EXHORDER, FLOODGATE) and is expected to see a March 2007 release.

ATP drummer Bryan Cox reports: "I can't say enough good stuff about recording 'Open Fire' and recording with Ian [Whalen]. We've trimmed the fat and streamlined what we do down to the most potent and essential elements. Ian has done an incredible job of capturing the raw energy and power that we strive to deliver in our live shows."

Thomas adds: "It is so good to be back doing what I love most... These songs run a wide spectrum of emotions and I believe that there are some truly special moments on this [album] that pleased my soul. Ian has really pulled something better from us."

Photos taken during the recording session can be viewed at this location. Additionally, ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY has announced a string of tour dates starting in late October to road test the new material. They are as follows:
