ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY Drummer Rejects Reports Band 'Stole' Album Cover Idea From Polish Band

April 25, 2007

ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY drummer Bryan Cox has commented on the reports that the cover of the group's new album, "Open Fire", created by legendary graphic designer Ken Kelly (KISS, MANOWAR),was previously used by OPEN FIRE, a Polish heavy metal band, in 1987 on their LP "Lwy Ognia". However, this album seemingly never saw the light of day.

Cox posted the following message on his band's official message board: "Didn't we already go over this shit?!?!? Never saw that crap before. Probably because, as it states on their cover, it was UNRELEASED. We paid Ken Kelley to license the piece for our cover. Since, to the best of his knowledge, no one had ever used the piece before as an album cover, we can assume that the Polish band STOLE it and are lucky that it IS unreleased, lest they be prosecuted.

"An amazing coincidence? Yes. I will certainly admit to that. Theft or copycatting? Fuck no.

"Anybody who wants to take this discussion further can do so with Ken Kelley."
