ALICE COOPER Golf Tournament To Conclude Today

April 25, 2006

Launch Radio Networks is reporing that Alice Cooper is in the midst of his 10th annual charity golf tournament. This year's event is being played at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and it brings amateurs together with musicians including former EAGLES guitarist Don Felder and Pat Boone, and actors including Dennis Hopper, Richard Roundtree, and Kevin Sorbo, as well as a number of professional athletes. The tournament raises money for Cooper's Solid Rock Foundation, and he told Launch the idea behind the organization. "We looked around and said, 'Kids have always been part of my whole thing,' so, you know, give something back on a level of inner-city kids that can't help themselves, or don't really have any place to turn to, so let's provide 'em a place to turn to," he said. "So that's why Solid Rock was born."

The tournament runs through Tuesday, April 25.

Cooper and his band head back out on the road next Monday (May 1) in St. John's, Newfoundland, in Eastern Canada.
