ALICE IN CHAINS Interviewed By ExploreMusic (Video)
September 22, 2010ExploreMusic's Mike Sullivan recently conducted an interview with drummer Sean Kinney and guitarist Jerry Cantrell of ALICE IN CHAINS. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.
ALICE IN CHAINS kicked off the BlackDiamondSkye tour last Thursday (September 16) in Chicago with DEFTONES and MASTODON.
At each stop on the tour, an envelope will be hidden at the venue. Whoever opens it will find each band's autographed set list for that night, along with a VIP laminate featuring a secret code.
The code will enter the laminate into a drawing to win a custom Gibson guitar signed by all the members of the tour valued at more than $2,000, along with a Marshall amplifier half-stack valued at $2,050. A total of only 19 people — one from each gig — will be entered into the contest.
The tour is named after each of the three bands' latest albums — ALICE IN CHAINS' "Black Gives Way To Blue", DEFTONES' "Diamond Eyes" and MASTODON's "Crack The Skye".
ALICE IN CHAINS singer William DuVall said in a recent interview that the band will likely record a follow-up to "Black Gives Way To Blue", which was the group's first full-length studio effort in 14 years.
DuVall joined ALICE IN CHAINS in 2006 when the band started touring again for the first time in 10 years. Original vocalist Layne Staley died in 2002.
