ALL THAT REMAINS Frontman Comments on European SOUNDS OF THE UNDERGOUND Tour
March 8, 2006ALL THAT REMAINS, the Massachusetts-based act featuring former SHADOWS FALL vocalist Philip Labonte, have been tapped to play this summer's Sounds of The Underground Europe 2006 tour. The trek, which kicks off May 10 in Manchester, England, wil also feature metal and hardcore giants CHIMAIRA, MADBALL, UNEARTH, TERROR, and MANNTIS. "We're pretty pumped...we're excited for this tour," frontman Phil Labonte said. "CHIMAIRA's great, we played a month with them back in the States in August. They're really sweet, fun dudes. That’s what you want, especially when you're traveling to a foreign country: good, kind people always looking to have some fun."
Labonte also admits that Europe brings a different flair to the ALL THAT REMAINS live show. "The Euorpean crowds are a little different [from U.S. crowds]," he continued. "The past two times we've been there, with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and TRIVIUM, the kids, on average, seem to get a little more excited about shows, so it's kind of refreshing."
ALL THAT REMAINS is currently recording the follow-up to 2004's "This Darkened Heart" with Adam Dutkiewicz (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) and Peter Wichers (ex-SOILWORK) at Zing Studios. Scheduled to stay in the studio into the early part of April, the band will be laying down 12 songs, including "This Calling", a song the band debuted on its recent tour alongside ARCH ENEMY, and an updated take on "Follow", a track from the band's debut record, "Behind Silence and Solitude". Travis Smith (ICED EARTH, OPETH) will handle the album's artwork. Meanwhile, Labonte has started a photo blog to keep fans updated through the recording process at this location.
